Hell Is Us: How to Solve the Church Puzzle in Jeljin

In Hell Is Us, while searching for the Keystone of Rage, you will travel to Jeljin, where you'll come across a puzzle in the grounds of a church. In this Hell Is Us guide, we will reveal how to solve this puzzle.

How to Solve the Church Puzzle in Jeljin in Hell Is Us

• Once you're inside the church, open the door to the other side and defeat the enemy there.
• This is the location of the main puzzle, but you'll have to do a little exploring first.

• As you come out of the church, go right and climb the ladder onto the scaffolding.
• Continue up the next ladder, walk over the roof, then descend the scaffolding on the other side.
• You'll now be in an area with four statues and a dove symbol above a crypt.

Scan the tablet: "With locked eyes, Phenelo and Vaahn vow to love each other for eternity as their fathers, Lord Aster and Lord Jehan, look on."

• This is a clue for the statues. You need to turn the two left-hand statues so they're facing right, and the two right-hand statues so they're facing left.
• This opens the crypt door.

• Inside is another tablet to scan: "October 30th, Phenelo Aster is betrothed to Vaahn Jehan." You'll need this date for the main puzzle.
• Leave the crypt and on the left is a corpse with an item on them. Pick it up to get the Crane Keys.

• Return to the main church. To the northwest you will find some stairs leading down to an area with another crypt, this time with a flower symbol.
• Get rid of the enemies, then approach the crypt and scan the tablet: "In a grand deception, Asterian soldiers replaced their lion crest with that of the Aargaulan star."

• This tells you what to do about the statues; turn them so they're all showing the star symbol.
• The crypt will open; scan the tablet inside: "June 24th, Vaahn Jehan and Phenelo Star are wed during a lavish ceremony."

• Next, open the gate to the east. Defeat the enemy here, then go to the crane, use the key you picked up earlier, and activate the crane.

• This lowers some wooden planks so you can cross to the other side and ascend the scaffolding.
• At the top is a third crypt, marked with a dagger symbol.

• Defeat the enemy, then scan the tablet: "So great was Phenelo's hatred and rage towards her brother and father that she could no longer look at them, while they looked to her with disappointment."
• Turn all the statues so they're facing left, which will open the crypt.

• Scan the tablet inside: "Vaahn Jehan is assassinated at his wedding by 33 Asterian soldiers."

• Return to the church.
• From the entrance, look south and follow the road down to the right, then left under the arches.
• Turn left and go right through the mausoleum.

• Follow the path through the cave and up to find some enemies.
• Drop down on the scaffolding to reach the crypt with the horse symbol (beware of more enemies).

• Scan the tablet: "It was as if her brother Konrad plunged a dagger into Phenelo's back, as she and Vaahn looked away from each other in panic."
• Turn the left statue to the left, then the other two statues to the right.

• Scan the tablet inside the crypt for your last clue: "Phenelo Aster mourns her husband at the Jeljin cemetery for 90 days."
• Go back to the church; we're finally gonna solve that puzzle.

• There are four groups of three dials. You need to input the correct symbols and digits in each of them to solve the puzzle.
• From left to right, you need to input the following:
  • Dove, 30
  • Flower, 24
  • Dagger, 33
  • Horse, 90

• This opens up a passage into the tomb.
• Go down, defeat the enemies, and pull the lever on the sarcophagus to obtain the Iron Seal - Fading.
