Looking for a The Desert Door walkthrough for God of War Ragnarok? The Desert Door is a Favour, which are Ragnarok's equivalent of side-quests. As part of our God of War Ragnarok guide, we're going to share our full The Desert Door walkthrough, which includes puzzle solutions, combat strategies, and any other key areas of interest.
God of War Ragnarok: The Desert Door Walkthrough
The Desert Door will begin when you collect the Alfheim Barrens Key Half in Alfheim. The first half is located just south west of The Burrows, in The Forbidden Sands. You'll find the second Alfheim Barrens Key Half just west of the The Hjarta, almost directly south of The Burrows.
Once you have both Alfheim Barrens Key Halves, head north of The Burrows, to a temple on the horizon. Climb on the rock and then smash through the wall. You can complete a Treasure Map here, called The Forgotten Tower, shortly after battling the Light Elves. Once you're done, head through the big and obvious doorway. Be ready!
Boss Fight: How to Beat Gravel Belly
Gravel Belly is a Drake, and he'll blast through the doorway as soon as you insert the key. Despite his considerable scale, this foe should not present too much of a challenge. When there's a distance between Gravel Belly and Kratos, he'll fling poisonous orbs, which can be parried. His other primary attack is to stomp the ground, causing a ripple effect that needs to be dodge-rolled out of the way of. Be careful when up close because he'll try to bite you, but this move can once again be parried. Let rip when the foe is stunned to unleash serious damage, and repeat until defeated. Gravel Belly will drop an Enchantment named Alfheim's Fortune, as well as Dragon Teeth and Dragon Claw. Defeating it will complete The Desert Door, as well as award you with Skirnir's Gambanteinn.
