The Hunter and the Hunted is a Main Quest in Final Fantasy 16, following on from The Wages of Guilt. As part of our Final Fantasy 16 guide, we're going to explain everything you need to know about The Hunter and the Hunted.

Main Quest	Gav has been tracking the one the citizens of Lostwing believed to be a Dominant of Fire — the same man who reduced Caer Norvent to cinders — and sends word to Cid that he has picked up the scent of their quarry. However, it seems the forces of Sanbreque are also on Gav's trail, as en route to rendezvous with him at the Kingsfall, Cid and Clive hear the unmistakable sound of an imperial hunting whistle. They split up and race to his rescue.

The Hunter and the Hunted: Walkthrough

The Hunter and the Hunted begins as you enter the Kingsfall area. After the cutscene, proceed forward, grabbing 4 Wyrrite along the path. Drop down and you'll be up against some Black Widow enemies.

Once they're dealt with, cross over the river and continue on, picking up 3 Sharp Fangs. A little further along, you'll come up against a Minotaur.

Minotaur Spoils:

1x Minotaur Mane
25x Sharp Fang
30x Bloody Hide
18 EXP
30 Ability Points
1,250 gil

After fighting the Minotaur, head through the gap into the next area. Continue following the path, picking up items as you go. You'll fight more Black Widows and other enemies, including another Minotaur, so watch out. As you cross a large bridge, watch the cutscene.

Next up, fight off the soldiers who are after Gav. Another cutscene will introduce Knight of the Dying Sun, your next boss fight.

50x Wyrrite
55x Bloody Hide
2x Meteorite
448 EXP
120 Ability Points
2,500 gil

Once the fight is over, watch the cutscene, then fast travel to the Hideaway. After another cutscene, go to the infirmary to visit Jill, marked onscreen. Watch the next cutscene.

Your next stop is Charon, so follow the marker and speak to her. Once you're done there, go and speak to Gav. Watch the cutscene, then fast travel to Three Reeds to conclude the quest.
