Vivian succeeds in piecing together the puzzle of Hugo's disappearance — his Waloeder allies carried him across the Velkroy Desert to his home in the heart of Drake's Fang, where he remains to this day. Clive and Byron waste no time in giving chase.

Riddle of the Sands: Walkthrough

Riddle of the Sands begins immediately after you fast travel to the Velkroy Desert at the end of the last quest.

Upon arrival in the Velkroy Desert, you'll notice it's a large, open space, with pockets of enemies to fight and various items scattered around. You're free to explore here as much as you like. When you're ready, head for the marker in the centre of the desert.

On approach, you'll be given a new marked destination, so continue south through the desert. As you approach the Dalimil Inn, a cutscene will start. When it's done, you'll be in a fight with some royalist soldiers.

Royalists Spoils:

With the group defeated, watch the cutscene. Your next destination is further south, but as you head forward, a brief cutscene plays out. You'll need to talk to a couple of people in the vicinity about where to find Ruzena Dalimil.

Next, follow the marker to the other side of the area and speak to the Riverboat Captain. After that, it's on to speak with Ferda at the baths. He'll tell you to go to the bordello. Follow the marker. Watch the cutscene, then you'll be in a fight with some bandits.

Once they're dealt with, watch another cutscene. Follow the marker to the Lock of Leisure to finally meet "Ruzena". Watch the cutscene. This triggers a sub-quest called Follow the Crystals, which you need to complete before continuing. Click the link for more info.

Once that's done, go through the south gate and watch the cutscene. Make your way through the path south to Drake's Fang. As you get close, another cutscene will begin. After that, fast travel to Drake's Fang, which closes out the quest.
