Fire and Ice is a Main Quest in Final Fantasy 16, following on from Here Be Monsters. As part of our Final Fantasy 16 guide, we're going to explain everything you need to know about Fire and Ice.

Fire and Ice: Overview

Type	Description
Main Quest	Clive and Jill land their dinghy upon the stony shores of Drustanus. They make for the mountain and the Oratory that lies within, where both the Mothercrystal and the Patriarch shall taste their blades.

Fire and Ice: Walkthrough

Fire and Ice begins immediately after fast travelling to Drake's Breath following the previous quest.

Head up the steps, following the path along the rocks. After passing through a doorway, you'll be up against some enemies. Continue through the next doors and up the steps. You'll find some more enemies to defeat.

Proceed along the path, ensuring to keep an eye out for items like Potions lying around. After a short while, you'll hit a cutscene. When it's done, you'll be up against an Akashic Morbol.

Akashic Morbol Spoils:

18x Magicked Ash
2x Meteorite
180 EXP
120 Ability Points
2,000 gil

After the fight, watch the brief cutscene, then continue along the linear path. You'll come up against enemies as you go. As you come to a bridge beside a large lavafall, watch the cutscene.

Keep heading forward through the volcano as you get closer to Drake's Breath. After fighting the Red Mousse, you'll hit another cutscene. Time for another boss fight, this time against Flame Lizard.

Flame Lizard Spoils:

1x Gnarled Scale
18x Sharp Fang
220 EXP
150 Ability Points
2,500 gil

After the fight, jump up the rocks and climb the ladder. At the top, open the door and watch the cutscene. Afterwards, continue following the path and you'll come up against some soldiers. Go through the door and up the stairs, then fight the next group of enemies. Press on and you'll come up against one last group ahead of the Comraich. Once they're done, go through the door and watch the cutscene.

You'll be up against Liquid Flame next.

2x Liquid Flame
35x Magicked Ash
600 EXP
220 Ability Points
3,000 gil

Watch the next cutscene, which brings the quest to a close.
