Fanning Embers: Walkthrough

Fanning Embers begins after fast travelling to the Greatwood from The Hideaway. Immediately, Torgal will join your party, and you'll now be able to command him in battles.

Follow Cid through the forest and you'll fight a pack of Worgen. Press on and watch the cutscene. Drop down and ahead is a group of Vampire Thorn. Defeat them, and then pick up a Wyrrite.

Squeeze past the log and watch the cutscene. Press on, nabbing 2 Sharp Fangs along the way. You'll be confronted by a Dragon Aevis, which you need to defeat.

Dragon Aevis Spoils:

Carry on following the path, nabbing a Potion and a Steelsilk as you go. When you reach a dead end, Torgal will bark to inform you of the way to go. Just past where Torgal is standing is a Magicked Ash. Go through the gap and continue on — you'll pick up 2 more Sharp Fangs.

Next up is a group of enemies to fight. Once dealt with, shimmy through a gap to a new area and continue down the path. On the left is a Potion. Down the hill you can grab 2 Bloody Hides. Drop into the area below and watch the cutscene. Now it's time to fight another boss — Fafnir.

Fafnir Spoils:

Once defeated, watch the cutscene. Continue forward, picking up a Potion. Exit the cave to find a High Potion on the cliff. Carry on to find 2 Bloody Hides. After sliding down a slope, fend off the Hornet enemies. This area has a few small areas with pick-ups to find, like a Wyrrite and a Potion. There are more enemies to fight before you move on.

Follow the river upstream and there will be more enemies to fight, including another Dragon Aevis. Once dealt with, open the chest to obtain a Meteorite.

Continue on, picking up a High Potion, and watch the cutscene. You'll next be up against some soldiers as well as a boss, Midnight Raven.

Once Midnight Raven is down, watch the cutscene. Fast travel to Orabelle Downs to end the quest.
