Elden Ring: How to Complete Limgrave Tunnels

On this page, we're going to reveal how to complete Limgrave Tunnels. We'll include the location, a walkthrough, and any additional information, like item drops.

Limgrave Tunnels Location: How to Find It

Limgrave Tunnels can be found in the northwest corner of the Limgrave lakebed. The entrance is tucked away in the corner here, but it's not completely safe. Take care not to grab the attention of Flying Dragon Agheel on your trip unless you're up for a challenging fight.

Limgrave Tunnels: Walkthrough

As with most tunnels, your goal in the Limgrave Tunnels is to get to the bottom, but the lifts down conceal a few secrets. Take the initial lift down and rest at the Site of Grace to get yourself a checkpoint here in case things go awry. Next, backtrack and ride the lift back up while looking westward to see an opening. Get a good feel for where it is before riding the lift back downwards and jumping off at that passageway. There is another illuminated opening toward the southwest, but it just holds a dead end, so there’s no need to mind it. Head down the westward passage to find a Golden Rune [4] that’s free for the taking.

To safely make it back down, look downward toward the northeast to find ledges illuminated by candles. Jump down on each one to avoid falling to your death, and arrive back at the Site of Grace. Follow the only path forward to come out to a mining tunnel with a miner enemy to your immediate left. These guys take a surprising number of swings to take down, but if their back is turned you can sneak in a backstab to get the upper hand. They can also drop the Pickaxe weapon, so it might be worth a shot if you’re looking to give it a go yourself. Take them out if you’d like, and grab the ore patch they were mining to get a Smithing Stone [1] for weapon upgrades.

When continuing forward, be careful of the miner carrying a backpack as they’ll lash out at you as soon as you’re in their sights. Take them out and grab another Smithing Stone [1] before reaching the bottom of the steps. Before delving into the corridor directly in front of you, turn around to find another miner in front of another Smithing Stone [1], and a corridor to the southwest that houses an item.

As is usually the case, this item isn’t unguarded – three rats will await you. Back up into the previous chamber to give yourself some more room if necessary, and dispatch the rats to claim your new prize, another Smithing Stone [1]. That’s all that’s back here, so it’s back to the corridor at the end of the steps we descended earlier that holds another lift to descend.

Ride the lift down to the bottom and continue down the passageway to find a wooden structure housing a dog enemy and an item. The dog is easily snuck up on and dispatched, making the Large Glintstone Scrap on the corpse all yours. Head back out toward the miner to find a dog and another miner waiting to pounce in the dark corner. Back up to bait out the dog and take it out first to make the miner much easier to deal with.

Back where you were ambushed is another Smithing Stone [1] guarded by the miner, and if you squeeze behind the wooden structure, you’ll find another Smithing Stone [1] ore outcrop. Head back to the lift and ride it upwards, but keep your sights to the southeast and prepare to jump off it early. There’s an opening here along the lift’s path with a Stake of Marika and the path forward. Head through to come to another chamber with enemy miners.

The patrolling miners who hold lamps pose the greatest threat here. They’ll actually come after you when you're in their view, and their lamps can shoot fire that’s difficult to avoid. Dispatch the two in this area at your discretion, and grab the Smithing Stone [1] outcrops along the way. Before taking the next lift down, take the path west to get some Glintstone Scrap off the corpse.

This next lift is the last one in these tunnels, but jumping off it early onto the illuminated platforms can yet again prove fruitful. Descend down the lift chamber's exterior to get a Golden Rune [1] from a corpse and, on the last ledge before the bottom, a glowing silver Somber Smithing Stone [1]. All that remains is to finish dropping down to the bottom and coming to the wooden doors that house this area’s final boss, the Stonedigger Troll.
