Elden Ring: How to Complete Giant-Conquering Hero's Grave

On this page, we're going to reveal how to complete Giant-Conquering Hero's Grave. We'll include the location, a walkthrough, and any additional information, like item drops.

Giant-Conquering Hero's Grave Location: How to Find It

The Giant-Conquering Hero's Grave isn't the easiest to reach since you need to actually cross over from another part of the map instead of simply riding Torrent up to its entrance. From the Site of Grace named Church of Repose, you're going to want to head north, and then once you reach the cliff edge, start heading left. You need to follow the valley down until you notice a rock sticking out of the cliff edge. You're going to use this to cross over to the area where Giant-Conquering Hero's Grave is. Once you've jumped across the location in question will be right in front of you.

Giant-Conquering Hero's Grave: Walkthrough

Once you enter the building, take the elevator down to head into the grave itself. Down here you'll find the Giant-Conquering Hero's Grave Site of Grace, and a blocked door requiring a Stonesword Key to get inside. If you choose to use one here, you'll be rewarded with the Flame, Protect Me spell. The main path is to your left, and at the bottom of the staircase will be a Fire Monk to kill. Take another left and follow the path around and you'll discover the main type of enemy in this area: ghostly forms of enemies.

In their default state, you can't inflict any damage on them. In the case of the encounter ahead, you must get behind the Burial Watchdog up ahead and bait into following you into the beam of light cast onto the floor. Once it makes contact with the light, the ghostly matter guarding it will disappear and you can start dealing damage. Beware of the two Imps that accompany it; they can be quite annoying.

Once you've killed all the enemies present, take the path in the back-left corner of the room and a statue breathing fire will stand in your way. You'll have encountered many of these before, so do the usual: wait for the right moment and then sprint up the hallway and attack the statue to deactivate it. Follow the linear path through the grave until you come with a room that has a staircase on your right.

Up on the floor will be another Fire Monk and another place to insert Stonesword Keys. If you use them and solve the puzzle within, you'll get the Cranial Vessel Candlestand. Along the main path up ahead you'll come to another elevator, which you should take down.

At the bottom, get off the lift but don't go too far. Turn back on yourself, quickly activate the lift using the switch in the centre, and then roll back off. This sends the lift back up to where you came from, but it also reveals a statue beaming light onto the floor ahead of you. This is needed to kill the Troll just ahead of you. Now you've got to bait the Troll into following you and luring it into the beam of light at the top. Once it makes contact, its ghostly shield will be lifted. Once you've killed it, the door it was guarding will open and allow access to the Ancient Hero of Zamor boss fight.

However, before you head through the doorway, consider dropping down into the basement below. You can get down there by climbing off the bridge the Troll was situated on. Down here are two more Burial Watchdogs to kill, but also some upgrade materials like Grave Gloveworts. When you're ready to take on the boss, though, head through the newly-opened door, down the stairs, and through the Fog Gate.
