Beastman of Farum Azula: Boss Fight Strategy

This fight takes place at the end of Groveside Cave and Dragonbarrow Cave, against a monster using a large sword. Most of the time, it uses it in a single hand to dart about the arena and jump in the air before landing a series of blows. Occasionally it'll also two hand the sword to deliver a powerful attack. However, it leaves itself wide open when it howls.

Locked onto the boss, you'll want to keep your distance as it moves through its attack patterns. Keep your guard up with a shield, and wait for it to finish. It turns out your R2 attack with a sword staggers the beast every single time. This means that even if it's winding up for an attack, you'll stop it in its tracks and get a free hit in. This is the strategy you'll want to utilise in order to take Beastman of Farum Azula down.

Keep your distance, then slowly close the gap once you know its swipes are temporarily coming to an end. Then, with the R2 attack, deal some damage and retreat once more.
