Demons Souls Ps5 Screenshot 2

This Demon's Souls Trophy roadmap will illuminate how to go about getting the Platinum Trophy in what is the PS5's premiere exclusive, Demon's Souls. As a part of our Demon's Souls Guide, we're going to break down each trophy in Demon's Souls, how to unlock each one, and what steps you should take on your quest to collect them all.

Demon's Souls: How to Unlock the Platinum Trophy

While not as nitpicky as the PS3 original, getting the Platinum in Demon's Souls will not be for the faint of heart despite being very achievable. While the majority of the Trophies here can be obtained in a single playthrough, getting all the spells for the Sage's Trophy and all the Miracles for Saint's Trophy will require you to get through an entire New Game + playthrough or play through the game again with a new character since you'll need more than one unique Demon soul to buy them all – unique Demon souls will only drop once per playthrough.

Despite being able to snag most of the Trophies in a single playthrough, doing so might be difficult due to how specific some of them are. There are a number of boss-specific Trophies that you'll want to keep your eye on as you play through. They are One Shall Fall, Brother-in-Arms, Fists of Legend, Not Fooled, One Shall Stand, and May you be unharmed. If you defeat a boss without satisfying the Trophy conditions, you'll have to either create a new character to fight the boss with or try again in New Game + where the bosses and enemies are even tougher. Your best bet will be to try and satisfy the necessary conditions on for your first fight with the bosses in question.

You'll also have to get every ring which can be a bit of a pain as a couple of rings require you to micromanage your Character Tendency. Check out our guides on Demon's Souls: World Tendency and Demon's Souls: Character Tendency to learn more. This is where things get a little complicated and small mistakes could make your path to getting all the game's rings much more difficult.

Take a look at our breakdowns for each of the trophies below to get a better feel at what will have to go into getting the Platinum and hop over to our Demon's Souls Guide for some tips and a list of the other walkthroughs that'll help you along the way. If you're looking to bag the Platinum as efficiently as possible, be aware of the boss-specific trophies and be mindful of the unique boss soul requirements for the Sage's Trophy and Saint's Trophy.

Return to Form

Silver: Help a player vanquish a boss

To help another player defeat a Demon boss, you'll need the Blue Eye Stone that you get by talking with the Maiden in Black after defeating the Phalanx Demon boss and talking with the Monumental back in The Nexus afterwards.

Using the Blue Eye Stone will leave a mark on the ground that other players near your Soul Level can use to summon you into their game. In order to put down a sign, you have to be in Soul Form and it must be in an area where the blue signs are allowed – usually toward the beginning of a stage. Put down a sign, get summoned into another player's game, and help them eventually defeat their Demon boss. Do so and this Trophy will be yours.

Unwelcome Guest

Silver: Vanquish a player as an invader

In order to invade another player's game, you'll need a Black Eye Stone. The only way to go about getting one is to defeat a Black Phantom – the first Black Phantom you kill will always drop one. If you aren't invaded by another player or never emerge victorious when you are, you'll come across a Black Phantom pretty early on in the Tower of Latria. It'll be on the stairs leading up to the Fool's Idol boss fight and it'll drop a Black Eye Stone when defeated.

After finally getting the stone, you'll have to actually use it. Use the stone while in Soul Form, wait to be matched with another player to invade, locate where they are in the stage, and terminate them. This could take a few tries depending on how the fights with the people you're matched against go, but you only have to win once to get this Trophy.

One Shall Fall

Silver: Vanquish the Tower Knight without killing any archers

This one might require a few attempts, but it shouldn't be too bad if you've got a halfway decent sword or the Soul Arrow spell and a healthy mana pool. Follow our Demon's Souls: How to Beat the Tower Knight Boss walkthrough using either the up close and personal method or the last part of our ranged method without killing any archers.

The easy ranged method of taking out the Tower Knight requires getting up on the balconies where you'll be in the direct crosshairs of multiple archers – making their arrows much harder to dodge. Try to stay as mobile as possible while staying at the Tower Knight's back to minimize your chances of receiving any damage yourself.

Brother-in-Arms

Bronze: Vanquish Penetrator with Biorr

The Penetrator is the boss that lies at the end of the area after the Inner Ward checkpoint in Boletarian Palace. Before attempting to defeat it, make sure you've freed Biorr. If you need help finding and freeing him, use our Demon's Souls: Where to Find Biorr guide.

Freeing Biorr should help make the Penetrator boss fight a good amount easier too. If you want to be better prepared for the boss itself, read our Demon's Souls: How to Beat the Penetrator Boss walkthrough.

Fists of Legend

Bronze: Vanquish Dragon God with Hand of God

Make sure you have the Hands of God weapons before going into the Dragon God fight. Both Hands of God can be found toward the end of The Tunnel City checkpoint in the Stonefang Tunnel level, right before the Flamelurker fight. There's a short pathway to the left in this tunnel that leads to a corpse with the Hands of God on it.

Look out for the three Rock Worms that are guarding it, though. You might want to coax them out one at a time if you can because being stuck in the middle of three of these gnarly damage-dealers is a recipe for disaster. After getting the Hands of God, equip them and move onto The Dragon King. Killing it exclusively with the Hands of God shouldn't actually be to difficult, just follow our Demon's Souls: How to Beat the Dragon God Boss walkthrough through to the end.

Time for Rolling

Silver: Cross the walkway through the Idol's volleys of arrows

When you finally descend the many floors of the Prison of Hope in the Tower of Latria, you should be greeted with a brief scene showcasing a deadly arrow-firing contraption. The walkway this thing is guarding is what you'll have to cross for this Trophy.

The massive contraption will fire its arrow volleys in groups of two. Sit back for a bit and get a feel for its firing pattern, because one slip up could quickly cause your demise. Once you're ready, run into its line of fire, and dodge roll through each volley of arrows. You won't get hurt as long as you're dodge rolling while the arrows are passing by. Timing is the only real thing you have to worry about. Time your dodges right, cross the walkway, and get the Trophy.

Not Fooled

Silver: Vanquish the Fool's Idol without hitting any clones

Getting this one shouldn't be too tough thanks to the Fool's Idol's relatively low difficulty compared to some of the other bosses in Demon's Souls. Follow our Demon's Souls: How to Beat the Fool's Idol Boss walkthrough to make sure you've satisfied the prerequisites to actually defeat it, just be careful that none of your attacks clip one of the clones.

Telling the clones apart from the Fool's Idol itself should be pretty easy as the real Idol will be the only one firing off a larger and more powerful projectile spell.

One Shall Stand

Silver: Vanquish Adjudicator without having him fall down

This has to be done with a bow and arrows or a projectile spell. Make sure you've got a reliable means of attacking from a distance, and follow the ranged method in our Demon's Souls: How to Beat the Adjudicator Boss walkthrough. Melee won't work since the only way to defeat it from close range is to make it fall over, preventing you from getting this Trophy.

May you be unharmed

Silver: Vanquish Maiden Astraea without killing Garl Vinland

This one is extremely tricky unless you have a solid bow and a bunch of arrows to spare. If you do, follow the Going straight for Maiden Astraea section of our Demon's Souls: Maiden Astraea Boss Walkthrough which is the highly recommended way of going about this.

If you don't have a decent bow and a bunch of arrows, this Trophy is still possible, but it'll be far more difficult. Your best bet will be to lure Garl Vinland away from the Maiden and to make a mad dash for her and try to dish out enough damage to finish her off before Vinland can kill you. The Maiden's healing ability and offensive spell will make this method a lot harder. Just bring a bow and some arrows and do it the easy way.

Seekest soul power

Gold: Embrace the power of the Old One

This Trophy comes at the end of the game. Defeat the final boss, but don't leave the final boss room. Instead, strike down the Maiden in Black and this gold should be yours.

A Dash of Sage

Bronze: Rescue Sage Freke the Visionary

Sage Freke is a sorcerer who will sell you some spells you'll need to get the Sage's Trophy. To find and free him, follow our Demon's Souls: How to Rescue Sage Freke guide.

Umbasa

Bronze: Rescue Saint Urbain

Saint Urbain is one of the easier NPC's to rescue, and that's great news considering you'll also need the advanced Miracles he'll sell to you in the Nexus once he's freed for the Saint's Trophy. Refer to the following guide to find out exactly where he's at: Demon's Souls: How to Rescue Saint Urbain.

Worthy of the Sword

Silver: Deliver Makoto to Satsuki

Getting the Makoto sword will require you to get Pure White World Tendency in the Shrine of Storms. Follow our Demon's Souls: World Tendency guide to figure out how to get a stage to Pure White World Tendency.

After doing so, go to The Ritual Path checkpoint, drop down into area with the Reaper, and enter the doorway to the right of the stairs that lead up to the aforementioned Reaper. Fall down the pit in this room (or talk to Patches if he's here and he'll save you some work by kicking you down the pit himself) and grab the Magic Sword Makoto which should be right in front of you after the fall if you're in Pure White World Tendency.

After snagging the sword, it's time to talk to Satsuki. He'll be standing at the very beginning of this stage, right after the Shrine of Storms checkpoint. Make sure you're prepared because he'll begin attacking after you show the sword to him, but you'll get a silver Trophy to show for it.

Road to Possibilities

Bronze: Give the Searing Demon Soul to Blacksmith Ed

You'll get a Searing Demon Soul by defeating the Flamelurker boss who resides at the end of the The Tunnel City's path in the same stage Blacksmith Ed is in – Stonefang Tunnel. Talking to him a couple times with the Searing Demon Soul in your possession should provide you with a prompt to hand the soul over, unlocking a number of new weapon upgrade paths and this Trophy.

If you're having troubles felling the Flamelurker for his Searing Demon Soul, have a look at our guide: Demon's Souls: How to Beat the Flamelurker Boss.

One of the few

Silver: Obtain Istarelle

Getting Istraelle will require you to get Pure White World Tendency in the Valley of Defilement. Follow our Demon's Souls: World Tendency guide to figure out how to get a stage to Pure White World Tendency. After doing so, start at the first Depraved Chasm checkpoint and continue on through the stage as normal.

Once you get to the landing with that group of pesky plague-infected rats, continue onto the wooden bridge with the big Depraved One guarding the doorway on the other end. Climb up the ladder that'll be on the left-hand side, about halfway across the wooden path. Continue following this winding trail to a cave with some more Giant Depraved Ones who are guarding the weapon that you'll have to pick up for this Trophy – the Istraelle spear.

Witch in the Tower

Bronze: Rescue Yuria the Witch

Yuria is slightly more complicated to free compared to the rest of the NPC vendors that require rescuing. That's not to say it's difficult, it just requires an extra few steps. Follow our Demon's Souls: How to Rescue Yuria the Witch guide to learn how. It'll be worth it though – she'll sell you some powerful spells, all of which are necessary for the Sage's Trophy.

Legacy of the Kings

Gold: Obtain the Northern Regalia

This Trophy can be had by crafting the sword called the Northern Regalia. Before being able to do so, however, you'll need to make sure you've given Blacksmith Ed the Searing Demon's Soul. For more details on how to do so, check out our notes on the Road to Possibilities Trophy.

In order to craft the Northern Regalia, you'll need to give two specific swords and the False King's Demon Soul to Blacksmith Ed. The two swords you'll need are called Soulbrandt and Demonbrandt. Souldbrandt is definitely the more straightforward of the two – just defeat the final boss and the sword will appear. Rip it from the ground and it's yours to keep. Getting the Demonbrandt is where things get a bit more complicated.

Before you'll be able to get your hands on Demonbrandt, you'll need to find an NPC by the name of Ostrava who hangs around Boletarian Palace. He's an armored dude wielding an ornate yellow shield, and he's carrying a Mausoleum Key you'll need. His first post is at the Gates of Boletaria checkpoint where he'll be hanging out on a ledge overlooking some enemies about halfway through that first section.

Killing him right then and there will cause him to drop the key you need. If you help him instead, you'll have to save him again in the next two Palace of Boletaria areas before he'll give you the key himself. The choice is ultimately yours, but the former is far simpler and doesn't allow for the possibility of Ostrava perishing somewhere and leaving the key behind for good. If that ever happens, Demonbrandt will be unobtainable until New Game +.

The door the Mausoleum Key opens is near the Gates of Boletaria checkpoint. Continue through the stage as normal, but once you reach the area atop the castle walls and above the gate that leads to the Phalanx fight arena, go to the tower that contains an open archway to a path that's being guarded by a shielded Red Eye Knight. Take it out, and open the door it was guarding with the Mausoleum key.

Inside, you'll find Old King Doran who seeks to challenge you. He won't attack you much, but be careful if he does as he can hit hard. You'll only have to do a bit of damage to him before he acknowledges your worth and allows you to take the sword – the Demonbrandt. Take the Demonbrandt, the Soulbrandt, and a False King's Demon Soul over to Blacksmith Ed, and you'll have all you need to craft the Northern Regalia and unlock this Trophy.

Sage's Trophy

Gold: All Magic Spells Obtained

Getting every spell in the game requires at least one full playthrough to get all the unique souls you'll need to purchase every spell. However, in addition to this, you'll also have to rescue a couple vendors so that you can purchase those more powerful spells that require a unique Demon's soul.

You'll need to free Sage Freke which you can do by following the steps in our Demon's Souls: How to Rescue Sage Freke guide, and you'll also need to liberate Yuria the Witch which we've also got a guide for: Demon's Souls: How to Rescue Yuria the Witch. They'll both sell you spells back at the Nexus, all of which you'll need to get this Trophy.

It's worth noting that getting every spell requires nearly two entire playthroughs because Yuria and Freke sell spells with overlapping Demon's soul requirements. That means, after finishing the game, you'll have to defeat most of the bosses again in New Game + to get the souls that you'll need to buy every available spell.

The same goes for Miracles which also have overlapping boss soul requirements. Before you start buying spells willy-nilly on your second playthrough, follow our save backup steps in our Saint's Trophy guide below to avoid having to do a third playthrough to get that Trophy.

Saint's Trophy

Gold: All Miracles Obtained

Most of the Miracles in Demon's Souls can only be purchased from Saint Urbain who has to be rescued. We describe exactly how to do so in our Demon's Souls: How to Rescue Saint Urbain guide. While you can buy a few Miracles from one of Urbain's disciples who will be in The Nexus right away, all of the other Miracles in the game can only be bought from Saint Urbain.

Some Miracles and Spells have overlapping Demon's soul requirements. Because of this, you'll have to finish nearly three entire playthroughs to get all the unique boss souls you'll need to buy every Miracle and every Spell. To bypass this, you could do the following instead:

  1. Get all the unique souls you need to buy the rest of the Miracles
  2. Create a cloud backup of your save
  3. Buy all the Miracles and unlock the Trophy
  4. Copy the cloud backup back to your console
  5. Buy the rest of the spells you need

King of Rings

Gold: All Rings Obtained

There are a grand total of 30 rings in Demon's Souls. You'll have to obtain one of each with a single character to get this Trophy to pop.
