So anyways holy crap this game is like one of my favorite games ever and I don't even think I'm halfway through (rescuing super-teen-idol Risette atm). Seriously, all the characters get me (the family dynamic between MC/Dojima/Nanako is spectacular); the plot, while not anything incredibly deep or mind-screw-y (yet) does a much better job of making you care than P3's, the combat is solid fun, and the whole dungeon-crawler/life-sim blend just totally speaks to my soul. And the music effin' rocks imo.
I can't be the only one out there that loves this game, right? Right? That would be... un-bear-able! ...

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
SMT's one of my favorite series, and that includes the Personas. While I haven't gotten to Persona 4 just yet (I wanna finish 1, 2, and 3 first), I have no doubt that it will be a great game and a favorite of mine for years to come.
To be honest, I wasn't a huge fan of the first Persona. I guess I really just fell in love with the social, be-a-Japanese-schoolkid aspect of 3 and 4 that was completely absent in the first game. YMMV, though. It was definitely solid if you're in the market for an old-school, difficult PS1-era RPG. It just wasn't for me. D:
