Its almost time to close this up with about 7 hours to go. Pokemon SS/HG was catching up to Burnout but has been left on a sidewalk smouldering away it seems now. FFX-2 made an improbable comeback, but it to has been left behind.

Sonic was a tough one to vote against. Even though I loved it growing up I figured it's not the best Sonic and Mario Galaxy 2 is the best 3D Mario.

@BAMozzy Sorry for that actually Bam its the original ps1 game. Lietenantfatman voted this one on ps1. Tomb Raider 2013 is in the cup voted for by the solution I think and shall appear later in this round. I will edit the list now. Feel free to edit your comment if it changes your mind!

The original Tomb Raider was way better than the reboot, at the time of release. And that's how I am viewing these choices. Quite enjoyed the reboot though. Not so much on PS3 as it ran at about 2fps but I 100%ed it on PS4.

Tomb Raider Anniversary was really good too, actually.

@mookysam I don't think Galaxy is the best 3D game, but Sanic can run into the darkest abyss it can find.

Just kidding of course, but the high speed running + platforming + enemies was never my favourite combo. And I played a lot of the game. It's strangely addicting and frustrating at the same time.

@themcnoisy That does make a difference - I am now so tempted to switch my vote to SW:BF2 as that was a superb game - better than the current Battlefront games and the original Tomb Raider hasn't aged well. That being said, the original Tomb Raider is a classic and was one of the best games of that era. Its legacy is undeniable - even non-gamers know who Lara Croft is and the Tomb Raider name. I feel Tomb Raider was a more significant game in the history of gaming so I will stick with Tomb Raider but the decision is much closer than it was - the rest was easy for me to pick...

@Octane without the spin dash original Sonic plays a touch slower and limited than its sequels. Still great though.

@kyleforrester87 I hated Tomb Raider, I came to it late (after mario 64 and Spyro) and just couldnt enjoy its controls and I kept falling!

@BAMozzy Its not accounted just yet bro, so sleep on it. Im struggling with that combo as well so will vote tomorrow instead.

@kyleforrester87 I prefer the reboot as it gives Lara so much more character and a much deeper story too. The game-play is more involved and the mix of RPG and more open world (although in hubs) was excellent too. I really had much more fun on the island trying to do everything and the death scenes were brutal. I really felt much more for Lara and her situation. I admit the 'Tombs' were somewhat simplistic but the game itself and the character development was superb.

Each to their own of course and I cannot deny how important the original Tomb Raider actually was - hence in the end it didn't change my vote but it was a tougher choice as SW:BF2 (original) was a superb game and quite groundbreaking too with quite a high player count for its day and the visuals were impressive for the day. In the end, it came down to the importance of each game in the history of gaming and for that reason, I had to go with TR.
