Topic: OUYA

So does anyone here have this console? just picked mine up last week on a whim didn't think it would be good but it was awesome! If you like indie games this is the place to go,like really. Being open source console,I've played a few game developed  by novices and some are mind blowing. Is this console a failure?

Would you buy the OUYA? whats your opinion on the console

It sounds interesting, but I'd have to try one before getting one.

To be honest other than the name I don't know anything else about it.

I wouldnt mind one myself. Im a fan of android,mainly due to it being based on Linux which I trumpet at every oppurtinity lol Funnily enough the Mac Os is also based on the Linux kernel which not many people know The only thing holding me back mainly is the specs of the machine as mobile hardware is developing at an incredible speed these days so it wont be long till its a tad out of date. At £99 the price aint too bad tho. Worse specced phones can usually cost more lol Id probably get one for the TV in my room as it has a spare HDMI port n I could use it for streaming anime

I would get it but honestly I would only use it to do stuff that is considered illegal and not allowed to discuss here.

The concept of an android console its amazing but the fact that many of these console developers like OUYA and Gamestick are trying to avoid the use of the Google Play Store may make them end on a failure for most of these new android consoles.

well its so open source they have made emulators, find them under apps. for 99$ its not a bad buy at all, plus you can try every game and if you decide you like it you buy it. i've paid any where from $1.99 to $7.99 the games are fairly cheap too!!!.OUYA does have an official site and you can see the catalog and upcoming releases which is great actually

One thing for sure,  the ouya console is great for indie gaming, im glad i got it cause i've played so many indie games from every genre. i hope the console does find a place in the market, I mean it lets you develop games for it , seriously, its that open source. it is basically a tool to make games as well as play them
