Topic: Looking for an OLD pc game

So, I don't have much to go on here, but any help would be welcome! The game either came out in the late 80s or sometime in the 90s, I'm not really sure. I was just a kid when I played it (was born in 84). So, what I know about the game is you are a wizard, or an apprentice and there are gates to the 4 different elemental planes. You have to beat the challenge in each plane before you can move on in the game. I also distinctly remember that you can use pomegranates to gain power. I've google searched my heart out using what little I remember, and I've come up empty every time. From what else I remember, the view you have is similar to games like Ultima VII and Baldur's Gate, where you are looking down on your character from a sky view. I know this is a wild goose chase, but any help is always appreciated! Thanks.

@ebill1984 After some aggressive Google searching, the only thing I found was this page where somebody asks about a game with similar-sounding criteria. Since I have no idea how to follow the page's discussion, I have no idea if anybody's answered them, but it might be worth scrolling up and down anyway, to see if anything jogs your memory.
