@Werehog I’m really enjoying Rise so far, feels like basically everything I wanted 2013 to be! The exploration alone is just more up my alley and Lara feels a lot more like herself even if she’s not quite as ruthless as she should be yet. Syria alone is one of the best levels in the last few games. I’m currently on the Baba Yaga DLC as it just popped up throughout the story so I thought I’d do it seeing as I was there.

@LtSarge Glad to hear 1000xRESIST didn't disappoint. I got it included in a bundle a while ago and also meant to start with it with all the praise I've heard regarding its narrative. I just didn't really know what to expect from it on a gameplay level, but it sounds like it's a visual novel turned walking simulator-type deal if I'm understanding your description right. Gotta make sure I'm in the mood to just walk through a story at some point, and then it'll be on the top of the list especially with your enthusiastic recommendation!

@nessisonett I was hoping that'd be the case! It's to Crystal Dynamics' credit that they listened to feedback and focused on expanding the exploration and actual tomb raiding (something that Shadow builds on even more, especially with all of its DLC integrated along the way). Smart move playing Baba Yaga as soon as it pops up, that's where it was designed to fit. Have fun!

Just finished Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (2023) on Series X. Wow, this was certainly a rushed campaign. Even the ending felt rushed, what with that cliffhanger.

The weapons free missions sound cool on paper until you realise that these are basically multiplayer maps that replace regular campaign missions. At that point I dropped the difficulty to easy and decided to just blast through the campaign. The actual campaign missions were fairly good, but the issue of there being too much stealth returns from MW2. I loved the old CoD campaigns for their bombastic campaigns, so once again I was rather disappointed by this one's.

However, the overall story was still very solid. Lots of crazy things happening and I was invested in the story from beginning to end. I like that the MW games now capitalise on the characters that made the originals memorable. Before, I didn't really care about the characters in CoD games, but the MW crew is definitely my favourite one. Price, Soap, Ghost, Gaz, Farah, Nikolai, they're just so cool and likeable.

Even though the game ended abruptly with a fairly dumb cliffhanger, I'm still very excited to play the next MW campaign and see how the story continues. I just hope they'll go more all out with their campaign missions.

CD, Maid Of Sker and Choo Choo Charles. Oddly CCC wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be kinda a janky but fun game very short mind.
