Knowing how popular the series is, I was surprised to see no thread about it. So, I decided to make one specifically for news on WWE video games coming (or rumored to come) on Sony's new handheld! I hope I'm not the only wrestling fan on this board...

I, personally, can't wait for THQ's June WWE '13 announcement. With Vita's version being heavily rumored, I'm doing my best to fight the desire to spend 40 bucks on an outdated SvR 2011.

Is anybody else as anxious about the game as I am?

I don't have or plan to get a Vita, but look forward to the WWE games every year. WWE 12 wasn't prefect on PS3 by any means but the GREAT roster made me over look some of the flaws.

I never had the chance to play WWE 12, but the visuals made me drool. I've seen the so-so reviews criticizing the story mode and the lack of commentary. Are those the flaws you mentioned?

The biggest flaw was their online server. They have had MAJOR trouble with it from the start. I got it when it first released and have only played one match online.

That doesn't really bother me since I didn't plan to play online much anyways, but I do like to download other peoples custom superstars and even that is a chore.

I know it's not just me, they even said on the WWE 12 website that it was a problem. They had a patch that was supposed to fix/improve it but I didn't see much change. (Could be better now haven't played in awhile.)

My biggest problem with the story mode was WAY to many backstage brawls. It got to the point that I couldn't wait for it to be over. I play wrestling games to *wrestle*.

That all bring said I would still recommend the game. Like I said the roster was great especially if you get the DLC. (Randy Savage FTW)

I spent most my time play the WWE Universe mode which I thought was pretty good. It's pretty much like a never ending season mode, and you chose which matches you want to take part in.

It will randomly make a card for each RAW,SD and PPV and you can either play as is or tweak it the way you want.

I loved wwf legends, just for the retro feel and all the old school fighters (actors) would love to see a vita version, but SvR board me.

I liked SvR on PSP. It underachieved in visuals and felt a little mechanic at times, but overall it was very entertaining.

And right on on WWE Universe. I had a lot more fun with it than RtWM.

The WWE games seriously need an overhaul - or a new developer.

For me, WWE 12 was the final straw. THQ loves to hype up their new 'revolutionary' features of each installment; but they always fall flat on their face due to the miryad of other bugbears present.

I'm sick of the archaic visuals: Superstars look like plastic action figures, their faces are deformed, they never wear their entrance gear, and the arena is always sparse and lifeless. I actually think Midway's TNA game still looks better than the WWE titles.

The commentary is awful, with repeated soundbites from previous games and observations that have nothing to do with what's actually happening in the ring.

Every year, a 135lb dude can lift a 500lb bohemoth without any effort...seriously, how do the devs never pick up on that?

Finally, the online modes for WWE 12 (on Xbox, at least) were atrocious. If you want to access the Create-a-wrestler/arena suites, you need a ridiculous Gold Account, AND you need to input a code included with the game. Bought it pre-owened? Whoops! Sucks to be you! In addition to all that, the mode itself is slow, unreliable, and the CAWs you download cannot be altered in any significant way. Bleh.
