*****EDIT:  This is a thread for general Vita game recommendations*****

With all the BOGO deals out there for Vita games, I figured it was (passed) time to get my launch-day list together.

I think I've narrowed the field to these three choices:
Uncharted: Golden Abyss
Wipeout 2048
Hotshots Golf
honorable mention: Little Deviants

Is there a reason why I should consider Little Deviants over any of the other three?  Also, is there anything I should consider outside of those four? I'm open to any other genre with the exception of fighters (Street Fighter, Mortal Komat, etc.)

Thanks in advance.

edit: I should also mention that I'll be picking up the Super Stardust "Bundle" on PSN.  All this should be plenty to get my game on.

Levelfailer

Think Ninja Gaiden Stigma Plus if you never played any of them.
Mortal Kombat is going to be awesome I would wait for it.
Gravity Rush is my favorite and I will get it when it comes out.

Vita = life = My life will be ruined when it's release. Awesome

I'm on the rope about NGSP; it's a port of a port of a port. It has some pretty mixed reviews but lower scores are because its not a new game. I attempted to play through the Xbox original but got frustrated since it was so damn hard.

Yeah.. dont get little deviants @Magi , it may be a good, cute game that utilizes every aspect of the vita, but its relatively short game that has no replay value.  Wipeout i think, should be your number one since it has online and tons of replay value.  tho its just my opinion.

also if you want an awesome game, but its not a vita game, you should try out monster hunter freedom unite.  its on the PSN for 20 dollars

Haha you definitely like MHFU, @Zephren! My brother loves playing local wireless with his friends. I try to get into Monster Hunter, purchased Tri, but couldn't find interest...

Haha you can tell? @cyphid  its really fun to play with friends, but if you got it just to play by yourself...well it might get boring.
Tri wasnt the greatest of the MH games.  the best american MH game is MHFU,  but i really hope they localize MH4

Due to a combination of what they had in stock yesterday and recommendations I've read here (and elsewhere), I grabbed Uncharted, Hot Shots Golf, and Wipeout.  I grabbed them at Gamestop using their BOGO deal.  I think I grabbed the last copies of two of them.  Hopefully that won't leave anyone disappointed for the midnight launch, but you know what they say about the "early bird".

the only thing I have bought on my Vita are 2 psp games. And Corpse Party is awesome. After playing all the demos the only thing I'm tempted to buy now is Lumines and Mutant Blobs Attack.

I went ahead and bought Mutant Blobs Attack and I played the first world. I really like the cutscenes and the game is a lot of fun. It's a really good looking game and I can already tell it's worth the asking price. I can definitely see myself replaying it a lot to go after the gold medals too. It's the kind of lighthearted platformer I really like.

So I've got just over $80 on my PSN account and 25gb left of my Vita memory card to fill up.  Any recommendations?  I mostly prefer RPG's but am open to anything except fighting games (Street Fighter, MK, etc.) and games where I'm a little side-scrolling ship going pew pew at thousands of stuff on the screen (Gradius, etc)  Looking for the most bang for my buck and trying to keep them no more than $15 each.  Less = better ofc.  Mini's are ok suggestions too.

PSN Games I already own:
Super Stardust
Escape Plan
Motorstorm

Games I won't buy:
Jeanne D'Arc (whiny main character syndrome)
anything Monster Hunter (my body is not ready)
Persona 3 Portable ($40!!!)
probably a few others that will come to me later

Games I'm strongly leaning towards buying:
Final Fantasy Tactics (was this or Ogre Tactics and leaning towards FFT) $9.99 205mb
Ys 7 $14.99  448mb  (This or Felghana?)
Corpse Party (needs a recommendation) $19.99 (yikes!)  556mb
Half Minute Hero (needs a recommendation) $9.99  101mb
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky  $19.99 (yikes again!)  1.16gb
Daxter $14.99  1.04gb
The 3rd Birthday $19.99 (gah! and needs recommendation) 1.16gb

That's all for now I guess.  What do ya'll think?

When I got my Vita, Corpse Party is the first thing I bought. It sounded like the perfect game for me. I am honestly really enjoying it. Plug in a good pair of headphones to take advantage of the 3D sound and play it in the dark. It's actually very creepy and I enjoy the retro graphics. I would recommend it if you like scary movies / anime / old school graphics. And it's more or less exploration/story based, with light puzzle solving. My only gripe with the game at all is that dying can be a little frustrating if you die the same way a couple times and have to go back and go through the same text again. So save at the save points whenever you can.

@Magi I'd recommend Lunar Silver Star Harmony; it a remake of a remake of a Sega Saturn game. I imagine you know about it but I think its loads of fun, plus its an RPG!

I was going to say Monster Hunter FU but it seems you are not interested on these. In case you like harvest moon type games you may look for PSP Harvest moon Innocent Life. I'm not used to these games but my daughter have them all for Wii and DS, and from her point of view this one is way better than the others.

If you guys are Ridge Racer fans, pick up the Vita game! Ive been enjoying it, plus the Namco Bandai gives you free dlc! Sure he content is small but if you find the game cheap, the future dlc shouldn't run too much out of pocket. I think that it's cool to see Namco Bandai try an different approach for Ridge Racer, even though a lot dislike it.
