Bloodborne - I just cannot be bothered with games of this difficulty anymore. I love Dark Souls but only played the first game, didn't bother with the other two.

It's a shame because I love these games for their style and theme, the nature of the story etc. I just can't deal with this difficulty nowadays - maybe I'm getting old, or this is my inner-noob coming out!

@KratosMD I agree with you on Gravity Rush. It feels like the "biggest" game I've ever played on a handheld, which accounts for a lot of why I stuck with it and defend the slower moments; most, if not all, open-world sandbox games on consoles have pacing problems, and still turn out awesome.

I think that final sentence from @Kidfried sums up my experience with Gravity Rush perfectly: "cosy and memorable, but far from perfect".

Actually, yeah add Fallout 4 to that list. Gave up in under 6 or 7 hours. I felt it didn't explain the mechanics to me very well and I had a few crashes and was just like, nope.

Now I may be an idiot, but there's one thing I am not sir, and that sir, is an idiot

@Kidfried I can see where they were going with the VAT system but honestly to me anyway it just felt too slow for combat. I guess I was expecting something more like Skyrim.

@Th3solution @Kidfried I'm actually quite intrigued regarding both of your thoughts on Dishonored. Personally, I never felt like the first person view was a problem at all and I can't imagine playing it in third person, or preffering that if it were to be an option. How and when did you feel the first person view let the experience down?

Th3solution

@Tjuz It’s not necessarily an issue of the game not being first person compatible, it’s just my own personal preference and what I’m accustomed to. When given an option I prefer third person, just for ease of seeing the environment and judging distance and surroundings. It was one of the main issues that turned me off to Dishonored. I might go back someday and try the series again; the concept and the world-building in the game seemed reasonable. I don’t know ... it was just mainly a case of not “clicking” with me.

@Th3solution Fair enough! I can see why there is a preference to third person by some, since most of my games are also in third person. I've never particularly favoured one perspective over the other myself though.

Resident Evil 4, to my shame. It never really got frustrating or boring, as such. I think I must have started playing something else and never went back to it. I loved it at the beginning but it just sort of lost me.

Good job, Parappa. You can go on to the next stage now.

@Gremio108 Same here, felt it outstayed it welcome long before I gave up on it. Found it a bit clunky to control too. Maybe because I played it a few years after it was released, and other games felt a bit smoother to play.

@beemo @Gremio108 @JohnnyShoulder I thought it was great as it was the constant feeling of dread with the game rather than jump scares. There were seriously dated elements like the inability to move and shoot, the frustrating long sections of escorting Ashley, and the “fill the space” inventory system but the overall gameplay was excellent for me.

@beemo It was at a time when i didn't have much money, so had to pick and choose my games carefully. Spent years hearing how ground breaking it was and when i did finally play it I was so disappointed. Also didn't like have that girl tagging along, found her so annoying.

EDIT: @Thrillho Only just saw your post, so I thought I tag ya in.

@beemo Playing with people you know makes a monumental difference. I played on PS3 and PS4 with people off another forum I use and it’s the most fun I’ve had gaming online. Playing with randoms is almost always a nightmare, especially doing the online heists.

@beemo I was tempted to buy it again in a recent sale but thought I'd probably do the exact same thing, play it for a while and decide that I'm not really enjoying it.

As for GTA Online, it's a blast when playing with a group of mates but it's nowhere near as fun playing solo, especially when grinding for GTA $.

@beemo That’s interesting, as Inhave heard most people preferred Watch Dogs 2 to the first one. I played neither. I keep thinking one will show up on PS Plus as a freebie, but probably not at this point since both are pretty old now and I don’t think I’ve heard any chatter about a WD3. In your opinion what are the pros and cons for WD1 compared to WD2? Especially for someone who has played neither.

FullbringIchigo

@Th3solution i would say Watch_Dogs 2 played better than WD1 but it's characters and story were a lot worse

Lego The Hobbit I found to be boring, quickly gave up on it. I suspect I would feel the same for most Lego games, the game play is not rewarding in the slightest.

Fallout 4. The game feels like a big empty sandbox with a few random settlements plopped around and you can build stuff just because. The game had no soul or personality and it became boring quite quickly.

@beemo @FullbringIchigo @Th3solution I found the setting, story and main character dull in the first Watchdogs. Only played a bit of the 2nd game, but San Fran immediately felt a more fun place to be in.

@JohnnyShoulder @beemo @FullbringIchigo Clearly a polarizing series. I’m just going to put it on hold until I feel an itch to try one.

@Th3solution Watch Dogs 1 has aged pretty bad as well. I don't think I can recommend it to anyone.

(WD2 is awesome, but I also get why the tone rubs some people that want a more serious experience the wrong way.)

I guess we can expect a third game next year, so I'd wait until then.

Kidfried

FullbringIchigo

@Kidfried i heard Ubisoft had dropped the series
