One guy here thought it was an alien & now I can never unsee it.
Hate it when that happens, like when someone puts it out there that you look like a Phil Collins album cover so that every time you now look in the mirror you hear "Su-su-sudio"...
@FuriousMachine I feel awful. But that is also f***ing hilarious πππππ i'd pick a different song, though. If you must be haunted by something (oh god π) at least make it a banger
@FuriousMachine I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Duke where Phil Collins' presence became more apparent. I think Invisible Touch was the group's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums. Listen to the brilliant ensemble playing of Banks, Collins and Rutherford. You can practically hear every nuance of every instrument. In terms of lyrical craftsmanship, the sheer songwriting, this album hits a new peak of professionalism. Take the lyrics to Land of Confusion. In this song, Phil Collins addresses the problems of abusive political authority. In Too Deep is the most moving pop song of the 1980s, about monogamy and commitment. The song is extremely uplifting. Their lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I've heard in rock. Phil Collins' solo career seems to be more commercial and therefore more satisfying, in a narrower way. Especially songs like In the Air Tonight and Against All Odds. But I also think Phil Collins works best within the confines of the group, than as a solo artist, and I stress the word artist. This is Sussudio, a great, great song, a personal favorite.
These violent delights have violent ends & in their triumph die, like fire & powder Which, as they kiss, consume.
@nomither6 I feel like I'm trying to see the sailboat in Mallrats when I look at the image. I can't see Sonic at all, I thought it was a ninja. With green skin and a very pronounced eye.
Edit: Now I see it.

@Ravix I don't think anyone wishes to be haunted by a Phil Collins song, but as soon as I have a song of him stuck in my head I just can't stop - Oh nooooooo
@Ravix I have absolutely zero control over what music my brain decides to play for me at times, but it could be a lot worse
@graymamba Ah, good old Vic Mackey. His fate was one of the strongest cases of poetic justice I ever saw. Brilliant show!
@GirlVersusGame I'm not a huge fan myself, but I like quite a few of their songs (both Genesis and Collins solo) and there is no denying the impact they've had over the years. "Land of Confusion" in particular was a massive hit over here and probably most other places as well. I'm a life-long Marillion fan and have repeatedly been told that I would love Peter Gabriel era Genesis, but it just isn't for me. This seems to baffle fans of said era as they seem convinced that it is the ultimate in 80's prog rock. It may very well be, but not in my book (I too prefer the Collins era).
@FuriousMachine I was quoting American Psycho, trying to make your Phil connection more cool. I'm not saying serial killers are cool, but it's a very good movie and quite a good book too if you aren't too prudish. Actually though you did say Land of Confusion and since Disturbed did cover the song you could probably pull off a David Draiman too. I do like a couple of his songs though especially Sussudio, Jesus he Knows me, and Nonpoint's cover for In the Air Tonight (used for Miami Vice 2006)
@GirlVersusGame even though it is a gif within a gif, it reminded me of:
And also rekindles an idea had about recreating random cinema stills in in-game photo modes (which could then be used as avatars on here, bam! Back on topic) I do have RDR2 installed, but is it worth the effort to find an iguana in that so I can snap a photo and put "There ain't no iguana" on it? I am not sure π€
