@MightyDemon82 Cheers. That's my Boxing Day evening sorted then.
@graymamba I did a rewatch before season 4 so this is my 3rd viewing and it's still a engrossing and entertaining watch. I do possibly notice the minor bits I enjoy less. Season 2 is a slight dip from season 1, and 3 maybe a bit more, but season 4 is back as good as the first for me.
I'm really hoping they can nail this final season and have a nice satisfying complete show.
@BearsEatBeets@graymamba@MightyDemon82 Yeah I've been enjoying it so far and have only seen 2 episodes. The product values is some of the best I've seen in TV land.
I'm not a binger, but kinda wish I watched season 4 as I was a bit lost watching the first episode, even after the recap.

Also been catching up with Stranger Things. Just finished Season 4 (which I'd never seen before) and am ready to get underway with the new stuff soon.
Wasn't as impressed with Season 4, if I'm honest, but then my favourite season was (and still is) Season 3, with its bright colour palette, campy ridiculousness, and emphasis on comedy. Season 1 is very close behind it though, because it was committed to its whole vibe and absolutely nailed what it set out to achieve. Season 2 was great in parts but I hated some of its choices, so it's probably bottom of the list for me. There was still a lot to enjoy about Season 4 but good grief, did it drag. Most of my problems were with its new characters, so cutting them (and their added runtime) would have really helped.

@Werehog I probably put 3 as my lowest because in leans a bit too much into the comedy, I had to fast forward the 'Never-ending Story' bit 😄. Like I said, I do still really enjoy that season though. I do think they occasionally struggle with having something for all the characters to do though, so one sub-plot might be a bit weaker than the others.
I finished the season 4 rewatch of Stranger Things yesterday evening so went straight into the new season. Suffice to say I was hooked and ending up bingeing all 4 episode into the early hours of this morning. Epic start, episode 4 is spectacular. I'm curious what they spent on this because it's impressive.
I can't wait for Boxing Day to see more.
According to reports by Puck News, Season 5 cost somewhere around $50-60 million per episode to make. Since there are eight episodes in the final season, it brings the reported total budget to a massive $400-480 million. This makes Stranger Things Season 5 one of the most expensive seasons in television history.

@JohnnyShoulder To be fair you can see it on screen. I wonder how long the final episode will be this time. If it's like season 4 the final episode is pretty much a movie.
@BearsEatBeets I can actually answer that question! They're showing the series finale in select cinemas, so the runtime has been revealed because of that. It's a whopping two hours and five minutes. I think that makes it not quite the longest episode of the series (wasn't S4 finale something ri-donk-ulous like 2.5 hours?), but it's still a very size-able chunk. Let's just hope it sticks the landing!
@Tjuz Thanks. Yeah the season 4 final episode was 2hrs 25 (I watched just a few days ago). It will be interesting to see how successful the cinema thing is. I also definitely have all fingers and toes crossed they can nail the ending. The fact they had a definitive end planned from the very start gives me some optimism.
If all goes well I'd love them to release a 4K Blu-ray boxset of the whole thing but I don't think Netflix does that sort of thing.
