WHAT A GOAL!!!!!!

Game of the tournament. Cape Verde can leave with their heads held high, what a fantastic performance. And it’s not as if they capitalised on Argentina making mistakes, they just took their chances and that second Cape Verde goal is one of the best I’ve ever seen. Gutted for them, that is the spirit of the World Cup, and they played with a confidence that puts larger nations to shame. Not many teams can say they were unbeaten in 90 in the World Cup!

Yeah goal of the tournament so far that 2nd Cape Verde goal, great team and great fans it seemed, sad to see them go! I thought Argentina looked a bit leggy even before extra time, not as convincing as previous games but when you have got Messi you have a better chance than most!

Hands up if you love low block football...

This has to be some of the worst refereeing I have ever seen

@Oram77 absolutely abysmal refereeing and it meant the game became an absolute joke near the end.

He should not get another game in this tournament.

@BearsEatBeets Honestly I hope he never refs another international game ever again. This was the ugly side of football compared to the beautiful one that was Argentina v Cape Verde!!

Honestly the Paraguay team needs to be help responsible too. I know that are done for this tournament but ban them from the next for collusion. I dont understand why FIFA doesnt do anything about it.

Same ref from our game against Morocco. Should have been stood down after that game, but this performance was even worse. Dreadful, dangerous refereeing. Those Paraguay players weren’t attempting to play football and to escape getting a single booking is mental. Look at the way Cape Verde played against superior opposition and then Paraguay come out and try to basically cheat to get ahead.

They also only made it into the knockouts because then and Australia played the most obvious 0-0 draw of all time, blatant collusion.
