Personally think it was a hell of a call by the ref with regards to the penalty, replay shows Kane kicked the ground and if he’d managed to stay on his feet about a second longer it was a definite penalty cause that goalie was about to wipe him out. England really poor again but Kane’s reliable and always finds a way. Shame for the DRC goalie, thought he was superb and should have clubs knocking on his door.
What a beautiful remontada from Belgium. Tielemans was nowhere during the first half. Lost al hope when Doku, De Bruyne and Vanaken got off the field. Subs were great.

To be fair though, I’ve seen them not given. Absolutely horrific tackle, his ankle is practically snapped, but there’s zero malice and it was completely accidental. I dunno, the slow mo did Balogun no favours. Maybe they need to be punishing those sorts of fouls so that players are more careful about where they’re planting their studs.
Not great by England but we are through (brilliant 2nd goal), our defence is pretty poor (as suspected given the selection) but I thought Rice was immense his deliveries were a bit off in the 1st half but just did not stop running and that shift at right back was superb under the circumstances.
@BearsEatBeets My understanding is that the players were asking supporters to sing it especially Kane (I've heard him say this a couple of time in interviews) basically and thankfully like me I think they hate Sweet Caroline and don't want any success to be associated with such a terrible song!
@McSavage Class video mate, nice one, he was very good indeed, I particularly enjoyed his falling to the ground after that Sanchez dive, great character and we were making progress. With the investment Mourinho got I am sure Louis would have taken us further.
@Mostik So they have swapped one terrible song for another 😄. It doesn't really matter I just find it mildly interesting why these random songs get connected to the team.
@BearsEatBeets Haha can't fault ya, it is a bit depressing, of all the Oasis tracks I would probably pick (if I had to) Don't Look Back in Anger, seems more appropriate but I would say anything is better than Sweet Caroline!
@Mostik We played Roll With It after winning games towards the end of last season cause the Rangers fans would sing it for Danny Rohl. We did the same thing with Simply The Best, it’s remarkably petty even for the Old Firm but they basically can’t sing it anymore cause we tend to win more often and we just stole their song.
Spain are looking good too, if Yamal fires on all cylinders then they’ve got a chance. As it stands I’d put the semis as France v Spain and England v Argentina. But that’s assuming England make it out the Azteca unscathed, never mind Brazil.
One of the worst calls I’ve ever seen. The ball’s trajectory doesn’t move when it goes past his head, then comes off a Portugal player. He’s not offside. There is no conclusive evidence that the ball touched the Croatia player on the way past other than that Ronaldo would cry otherwise. Goal should stand because that was the referee’s original call. It’s just an utter cancer on the sport. I would rather accept the consequences of human error than have to deal with every big moment being completely destroyed because someone miles away has a different opinion.
F**k me, they’re bringing out the snickometer to act as if that’s an end to it, when anybody who has ever watched cricket knows that umpires interpret the information provided by the snickometer and draw their own conclusions because they can be influenced by external forces. This isn’t football.
