@themightyant a nice to drive racing bull you can see lawson outqualifying Yuki with a point to prove (that's if he isn't completely down trodden with what's gone on). I do wish Yuki well though
@themightyant
My bets in for Yuki to qualify P11and maybe even put in a top 10 for the race, which would be an excellent start in such a difficult car to drive. I expect a lot of very happy Yuki fans in the Jap GP and that will be a delight to see!
Does anyone think Lawson or Hadjar will finish ahead in the Racing Bull? Seems a MUCH easier car to drive and pretty competitive, not far behind the top 3 plus Red Bull + Max.
Good to see both Tsunoda and Lawson do well in FP1. Tsunoda just 0.1s behind Max, Liam 0.3s behind Isack.
FP2 had 4 red flags so can’t read too much into it. But both Racing Bulls ahead of the two Red Bulls! Hadjar and Lawson 3rd snd 5th 0.04s apart. Max 8th 0.1s behind and Yuki way back in 18th, though he was compromised by the fires.
They will have to sort the grass out before the race, could ruin it… or could be a random Joker.
More widely everybody else looked pretty close again except Lando in the Red Bull
All caught up now! What interesting sessions.....that's not my preferred way to see grass smouldering😁
Mclaren one lap pace sees them firmly at the front.
Ferrari looking ok.
Tsunoda proving he deserves to be where he is imo, he was caught by a red flag before a representative lap in session 2.
Fp2 was so compromised it's tough to get a genuine feel for what those results mean. But it does look pretty close at the top and anyone dropping a tenth or two could find themselves further back than expected.
Now they just have to lay a ton of plastic turf before the next sessions 🤣
Would have been interested to actually see the practice but not getting up that early for it. I've heard what has happened but might try and catch some highlights still. Really looking forward to qualifying tomorrow though, should be very interesting.
@BearsEatBeets If you have sky, or some IPTV like a dirty pirate (guilty as charged!), they re run them at much more palatable times, I watched P1 at 10am, and P2 at 11.15am.
Qualy tomorrow is either 6am, or repeated at 9.30am.
@BearsEatBeets you didn’t miss too much, in terns of racing anyway. Doohan’s Crash was the biggest event, they thought is bottomed out rather than driver error, whereas Alonso put a wheel on the grass.
I didn’t get up especially for it. But I watched the FP1 highlights when I woke up and th3n straight into FP2 at 7am. Quali is actually 7am tomorrow and race at 6am on Sunday. All about the time I wake up normally.
@Titntin LOL. Sorry dude. Glad you are caught up now. I think they will water the grass and possibly spray it with a retardant. They were saying they did this in China. But it looked like tinderbox.
@Titntin I've got Sky so they are bound to repeat it throughout the day. I'll make the effort to get up early for the live qualifying tomorrow though. Fingers crossed for good things for Yuki.
@BearsEatBeets unless you want the chit chat, first qualy session will be 7am. I might actually get up for it, I'm seldom asleep after about 5.30 anyway, and it's probably healthier to just get up rather than lie there!
@Titntin Cheers, I normally triple check the actual start times for the early to make sure I don't get up earlier than needed 😁. I'll probably do a 6:30 wake up to catch a bit of build-up and give myself time to make a cup of tea.
Missed most of the build up so Seeing Yuki pull out of the pits in a white car confused me for a moment. Going to need the graphics to be accurate to avoid possible confusion this weekend.
Noticed they got the intro shots redone already.
Q1- Russell still seems to be best of the rest (though it’s so tight that might age like milk - one bad corner and you shoot down the list) just 0.281 covers top 8 for now.
Tsunoda just 0.03 behind Max, we’ll see in Q2/3. Lawson scrapes through.
@themightyant That's what happens when I miss all the practice 😄.
That's very sloppy from Sainz, I don't know if his team didn't tell him about Lewis in time but from what was briefly shown it would seem a penalty is incoming for Carlos.
Another extremely impressive display from Bearman there.
Max driving the hell out of that car. As so often delivering in the final run. Want to see the onboard for that. Antonelli also was off the pace but put it together on the final run. George was the opposite, few errors.
Everyone talking Lawson v Tsunoda but Hadjar came back from seatbelt issue to finish P7 impressive.
@themightyant It shouldn't be a surprise but Max popping that lap in did feel like it came out of nowhere. Yeah George was super consistent right until that final lap. Impressive from Hadjar again, especially as he seemed to be having issues in the car.
4 hundredths between the front 3 though!
