Combining the genre clue with a shot of that particular actor helped me score a lucky guess at which instalment it was. I think I've only seen the first one, though.

I made a right mess of this one. I hade a good long think on the first pic and thought I had it but no. Then I rushed past the next couple before realising on 4 it was another one in the franchise but made a foolish mistake with the title. Should have got this sooner.
I actually liked this more than the general consensus and hoped for a continuation of the slightly cliff-hanger ending.

I thought I recognised the actor in 4 and 5 confirmed it. Plus I figured it was this director before it was revealed. Unfortunately I could only remember one of their films together and was fairly sure it wasn't that one. Likewise @DemonStar89, I've not seen much from this era. I've seen a couple from this actor (the most famous ones) and they were both great but actually nothing from this director. I should probably correct this.

I've not seen this one yet. Lucky guess based on some set dressing which date the setting and it sounds bad but the person who appears was a big clue (you'll know what I mean, not trying to be a jerk, not trying to spoil details).

This is one of those ones I didn't know existed, never heard of it. (Although I think from the title I know the real life story it is based on).

A bit of a poor run there.

@DemonStar89 Fair enough. I suppose I'm old now and forget it's probably a lot less known than a few decades ago 😄. If you have any interest in the murder mystery genre it's worth checking out.
