Hello,

Quick question, is there any reason not to utilise Game Mode on TVs? I'm very paranoid as a person (not because of weed!) and I feel like the picture isn't as smooth as when I have my TV on standard mode. Difference in input lag is negligible, not that there was a noticeable level of lag in the first place.

Thanks for any answers.

Thanks for that. After reading it I guess my major question is - is game mode any different to just manually turning off all the processing and picture options?

@TheIdleCritic My first HD television (a Samsung) had the most terrible game mode. It made all edges fuzzy, very weird. Had to turn it off. Of course, that's over 10 years ago and Game Modes have become better.

What kind of TV do you have? Often Rtings will have some kind of advice on your specific set.

@Kidfried I have a 4K (but HDR only in 2K?!) Sony Bravia. I never really had an issue with it in standard mode, but I read that game mode reduces lag. I changed all the picture settings afterwards, brightness, contrast etc, so that it matched how I liked it in standard... but it just seems off. I don't know if that's because I'm so used to standard, or that the game mode on my TV isn't as good.
