@Metonymy That was an insane hockey game, amazing. Congrats to you guys. Did you get nervous for a bit there bud? lol Taking nothing away from CAN with this comment on overtime, because I had this opinion when the US women's team finally beat CAN for gold in 2018, but it was a shootout which i think was dumb. But 3 on 3 and shootouts DO NOT belong in the highest level, biggest hockey tourney on the planet. It should be like NHL playoffs. Continuous 5 on 5 OT until somebody pots the winner. There's too much of a chance 3 on 3 that a bum team can pull off an upset by a simple weird carom off the boards or a 1 player break down on def, with all that open ice that's out there. I mean do we really want that to be deciding winner goes home, or medal games?
@StitchJones I was just searching for the thread! Way too close for comfort. Didn’t think we looked great out there today, to be honest. Czechia did a phenomenal job keeping us boxed out of the slot. We had a lot of shots but not a lot of high danger looks and Dostál was great. We got it done in the end but it could have went either way. Couldn’t agree more that 3-3 and shootouts shouldn’t be anywhere near a tournament like this. Good luck against Sweden here! Should be another great game.
@Metonymy thanks man. yeah, I think this game is an example of how building your roster from elite goalie out can steal games and upset. I honestly thought the CAN wagon was gonna keep rolling right through Czechia with no probs. But as you said, Dostal almost stole the game there. I'm glad, because we obv both want to the see the CAN/USA rematch from 4nations for the gold medal. Hopefully US takes care of biz today, but we'll see. Sweden has a great roster and again, today was a prime example that anything can happen.
@Metonymy Yeah, thanks man. I only have three takeaways from that game. #1 Sweden is a great team, but I still would have liked to see more offense from the US. #2 now both of our teams almost got bit by the 3 on 3 OT rules today. Can you imagine the uproar if both CAN and US were eliminated today in 3 on 3 play? It might have been the VAN/BOS stanley cup riot all over again lol #3 maybe you can relate because you are a CAL fan and I'm a NYR fan, but both of our teams suck and aren't going anywhere. So when this is all over its back to our crappy teams. I'm a hockey addict and will still watch every Rangers game until its all over in April, but I'm really going to miss all this high level hockey after Sunday. Its gonna feel like beer league watching the Rags play
@StitchJones People would be rioting, as embarrassing as it is. Even the worst teams in the NHL are still playing pretty good hockey, so I’ll gladly watch but, yes, I’ll definitely be missing meaningful hockey. Women’s tomorrow!

@Metonymy Thanks for the congrats man. That was such a great hockey game. I was totally worried entering that game TBH. The problem when you steam roll everyone leading up to a gold medal game with Canada is, you never face any adversity. I really thought it was going to bite them in the a**. Would have liked to see them win in regulation, not 3 on 3. But I'll take it.
@StitchJones Yeah, I’m not happy with the 3 on 3 but it is what it is. We lost the game on that last powerplay. It was our chance to seal the deal but instead the momentum changed and USA got it done. I commend the resilience. It was the difference.

@Metonymy I can't help but feel bad for Poulin. She's such a great player. Poulin and Knight both. Both have been so good for women's hockey and the olympics. This was their last dance. It must hit so hard for both these ladies, no matter what medal they won. To have it all just be over for them at only mid 30yo's.
@Metonymy Oh, maybe I got my facts wrong. I thought they said it was the last dance for both Poulin and Knight. I know knight for sure, but I could have swore they said Poulin as well. Maybe i got it all twisted. Crazy day. USA wins gold and right after that, all this calamity with the Bluepoint studio closing and article about the RAM issues may push ps6 out to as far as another decade. lol its been a weird one for sure
@Metonymy Hey i forgot to ask you, what do you think about all the sweaters in this tourney? The US and CAN ones are too solid and plain looking. But most the other countries have some great looking sweaters, with all the graphics for the logo, right?
@Metonymy Congrats man. Great game by Canada today. Not only won, but faced adversity and came back vs. a really good Finn team. Hopefully we'll be seeing you in the Gold medal game on Sunday. I just noticed that game starts at 8am my time. lmao kinda sucks. but thank god for replay. I wouldn't wake up at 8am if my house was on fire. haha
@StitchJones Thanks! We got it done 😅 I didn’t get to see the game as I’m back at work (I was fortuitously off sick the last week or so) but it sounded like an intense one. As for the sweaters, I haven’t noticed anything so I can’t give an opinion. Good luck to USA! I’d love a gold medal match-up!

Yeah alot of these logos are freakin' sick looking man. The USA one is the worst, no problem admitting even though they are my team. I just don't like letters on a jersey. its so plain and just says USA in lettering. At least have the flag or some sort of shield type logo on the jersey. Its looks like a college level sweater, so lazy and bland haha
Hockey guys, are Canada... nervous? They seem kind of clumsy, error prone and at least half a step behind on everything, which to me makes most sense when people are not feeling fully confident and composed, or simply not locked-in mentally.
Does the game need a good fight to focus their minds, perhaps? @StitchJones@Metonymy 👀
