Topic: Where to put the console

Hi,

I’ve got a tv unit with a central shelf - completely open at the front and back. This is really the only place the PS5 will fit. Would this give it enough space to ensure it doesn’t overheat?

@scottpdn Depends on the size of the shelf. Mine is in an IKEA unit, as yours it is open front and back. Because IKEA, I could take out one of the shelves and make a bigger space. I easily have 4 inches on either side of the unit, and like 10 inches above it. I pulled the unit out from from the wall by a bit so there are a good 8 inches behind it.

So long story short, if you can make the shelf big enough it’ll be fine. If it is a shelf with 1” clearance on all sides, probably less good.

I’d have about 2 inches either side and around 4 inches above. Could easily get 5-6 inches behind. Do you think this would be enough space?

Most of the heat seems to be coming from the back (if stood up vertically) so just make sure the back is clear
