Sarcasm aside though, this was one I always meant to play but never did. I really like the premise of it. I might keep an eye out for a sale!

I wish I was playing this right now. lol The thought of playing an actual late 80's & 90's TGIF(The 'Thank god it's friday' sitcom lineup.)motion captured based fighter in the same style as the original early to mid 90's Mortal Kombat Arcade Trilogy would of been too good to pass up!

Tried the (extensive) demo for Final Fantasy Resonance. I thought it was brilliant old-school JRPG adventuring, and it found its way onto my wish-list.
Mewgenics dropped for PS5 today so I'm already paws deep in another playthrough.
I played it on Steam and was addicted (understatement) I needed to drop everything and see how it performed for console. The first thing I'll say is that they definitely had the Portal in mind too, the UI is nice and clear, the cursor feels very responsive and the menus are laid out well. The tutorial is very helpful for new players and understanding how to play the game comes easy, it's very intuitive. I've had no problems with it at all today, no bugs, the whole thing feels like a great port, perhaps a purfect port. The aesthetic is top-notch too, I'm looking forward to seeing how it does on console, though I do think price will affect things for some people. I play a lot of Indie games and thirty GBP/forty Euros is a little much so I do think a lot of people will be waiting for a sale.
Edit: Hours later and it's still such a good time, I think I played it all day, all night might be next.
Edit: I ended up playing all night. The addiction is real with this game.
so i finished the Dragon age Veilguard, it took me about 90 hours to complete it. Overall a decent game, i really enjoyed the first 40-50 hours, but the gameplay gets a bit stale after a while. Plus for the ability to build and change your fighter whenever you want. I wish more games would give you a chance to redeem your experience points whenever you want.
Started and finished Robocop in about 20 hours, i regret that i didnt play it a bit smarter to get the platinium trophy on this one, since its easy to get it. Since i grew up with the robocop movies and the videogames it was fun to have him back in the ring. I would say that the game is a low cost affair but it has the Robocop charm that just pushes you to play it to the finish. Iconic walk and lines makes it fun to blast the baddies with one gun only. Robocop only needs one gun. Well worth playing.
Next up is Bloodborne and Core Keepers. I am dreading Bloodborne, but maybe this time i will finally like a Souls game.
@Skarasny Hearing that from you about Veilguard makes me want to play it. I'm not calling you old but your approach in every post especially music is one of 'he knows what he's talking about, I need to listen to his words of wisdom'. So many people told me not to play Veilguard. I'd played Inquisition on PS4 and the collection for the others on PS3. They were a great time. Then Veilguard landed and so much unnecessary static was cast up and out there, I couldn't tell if it really was a good game or if people had other issues with it because it was too colourful/etc. I'd never heard of woke before Veilguard. I'm still left confused about that game, I have no issues with some colour and unique choices or representation. I just want to play good games for the sake of playing a good game.
As for Robocop, I knew you'd be the kind of person who'd appreciate the game. It's one of my favorite movies of all time (I mentioned it here yesterday yet again) For me Robocop was so special. Paul Verhoven is a crazy eccentric European who went to America to work on the movie, he showed the American Dream as a true American Nightmare and only an eccentric European like him could pull it off. I too went to America, am a little eccentric, did see it as a Nightmare and I understood Verhoven because of it. I never in a million years thought a studio could get that down right, not as a game. Not with that budget. It felt like I finally had that time-machine to step-back into the eighties and experience the world of Robocop as it really was. The whole game was lightening in a bottle, and if they are ever given Judge Dredd to work on? dream come true multiplied by infinity. Also you mentioned one gun, I too used his iconic gun for the whole game, I liked that it offered others, I only needed that one.
Sorry for hijacking your Robo adventure, I'm kind of obsessed with the first movie.

@Skarasny Always pleased to see somebody else stick with Dragon Age: The Veilguard and come away with their own, measured opinion of it. Sounds like you had fun!

@Werehog You played it too then? I'm still curious about it, I played instead Pathfinder Wrath of The Righteous and it was good until about mid-game, it became less about on-foot/action/exploring and more about a kind of map where you had to stave off constant barrages, but that meant a timer was running down and the pace was absolutely broken. I did like the other Dragon Age games, it's just hard to be sure and then there's the what if the story is huge. I'm not even sure that it's open-world, I suspect it's not.

Playing Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty and it's a really great game. I'm going to try and make this one my first platinum game. Although, you need to do some PVP Invasions in one of the Trophies, so it may not happen as I am not good at that.
@GirlVersusGame Heck yeah, played it and absolutely loved it. Second only to Dragon Age II in the series and its protagonist is my favourite BioWare protagonist of all time, even beating Commander Shepard. It's not fully open-world, but it has large interconnected hub maps, similar to Inquisition. The plot deals with a lot of major lore and whatnot, as it should do, but also keeps things clean and simple. I'm no Dragon Age expert, but I was still able to follow along more than enough to care. It doesn't outstay its welcome, either. You can just blast through large chunks of its story if you want to. If you're curious, check it out!

I've picked Ghost of Yōtei back up again which may mean more screenshots. And zeni hajiki. Lots and lots of zeni hajiki.

@Werehog I might try it but honestly Crimson Desert is feeling never-ending, in the best way possible, I think the pace is respecting my time it's more the size/volume, I'm just mindful that going from one big story game/narrative driven to another might not be the best idea. Control was technically one, but the dialogue was really light and relatable. Then I tried Kingdom Come Deliverance which was a fantastic game, I think I accepted too many quests, it became overwhelming and I had to stop. It wasn't language, there was just so much going on in the story, I couldn't keep up. I think it also comes from not playing enough narrative games as a whole, I have to balance it while not missing the actual story. I do like hearing the positives though, it was hard to tell if the game was good/bad or if someone's external opinion affected things, it felt very 'I haven't played it and won't because', I don't like that attitude. For example Starfield wasn't perfect, but I had no opinion until I played it.

I've finished Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy. I don't find it as relatable as Innocence nor Requiem, but the blade combat is more nuanced and enjoyable than I thought it would be, and the puzzles are enjoyable too. Might be a bit too Uncharted-like, but it's definitely a good game. Kinda wish Sophia would just chill and have a soft drink though, she's far too miserable-though I suppose that's a trait of A Plague Tale, they're not meant to be nonchalant experiences.
Currently playing Marvel's Wolverine. It's ok so far I suppose, but I can see the combat getting repetitive and it feels like the game is on rails a lot of the time.
Finished the first level of Wolverine and the first impression is strong - combat feels really good so far (yes, I could imagine it getting repetitive after a while but I can't judge that this early).
The "smell trail" existed for about 10s in the first hour and I think it was never meant to be a "handholding" mechanic, cause there's not anywhere else you could go anyway.
I think Insomniac wanted to visualise all of Wolverine's heightened senses in some way and they just missed with this one.
Judging by the social media posts, I expect a toggle for this to be added in a patch very soon.

I hope there's no X-ray vision. The scent mechanic sounds a little like that, but seeing a level/enemies through walls absolutely ruins immersion for me. Eidos even put it in a Hitman game because it was so widely used of a mechanic at the time. The game itself already struggled with it's identity. They added mechanics that showed you where to shoot, how to dispose of targets, it was dreadful. I had to remove almost everything just to play it. That's why I said to Sarge that he should consider the World of Assassination series for his first Hitman, if he stumbled on Absolution he'd never want to touch the series again. That one game caused so many job losses, complete company restructuring and was why the World of Assassination series went episodic digitally first, then disc based later.

Another reason while I'll definitely wait a little longer to play it. Insomniac are listening to their fans, Eidos are too. Some studios don't, Wolverine still sounds brilliant. I have to look into the score too. I'm sure it's David Fleming, he's worked with Hans Zimmer who might be my favorite composer. I definitely expect good things there too.

@GirlVersusGame Well he also has enhanced hearing so enemy heartbeats do show up through walls to a degree. Pretty sure you can't tell what type of enemy it is (not that it matters that much) or anything other than their position. Idk if the game introduces enemies who can't be heard this way later (would make sense for like robots and stuff). I didn't find this to be a problem myself.
@Voltan Thank you for clarifying, I like those big tall robots from the Sega game. They are the big walkers to my Empire, or my DeathStar to my Vader. I want all three, what for I can't say. I just do. Hopefully it brings more work David's way, he mostly works remotely and still punches above his weight.
