Topic: Using a UK PSN account on a US pre-ordered PS5

Hi,

The Playstation support is very difficult to reach or be helpful right now, I hope I can get some advice here.

I bought a PS4 Pro in the UK and have a UK PSN account, but this year I moved to the US and I've been using it here.
I pre-ordered the PS5 and I'd like to know if I'll be able to use it with my UK account, if I'll have access to the PS Plus collection and all that...

Obviously, I want to switch my account to US, but that's not possible it seems (?!), so are there any options of still keeping the games I bought and got through PS Plus in the UK and having a US account moving forward with the PS5?

It's so frustrating for my account to be a mess, all I want is to enjoy my new console.

Thank you!
Luka

You'll be able to use it, but I don't think you'll be able to attach an American bank card to it. I live in the UK, but I also have a second American account because they sometimes get games we don't. If I want to add money to that account I have to buy an American PSN card off the internet.

Thanks for your reply!
Yeah, but that seems messy and I'm quite OCD with these things... I want to have a US account so I can have PS Plus on it (it's half price here) and obviously everything else from this region. But if I stop using my UK account as the main one I'll lose all the PS Plus games and it'll be messy to split my library over two accounts. Argh!

You can have two accounts. One UK and one US. Have them both as primary accounts (different emails) if that makes sense. Then you can have access to both libraries. I know it's annoying to keep having to switch between the two but I think it's the only way seeing as you can't change regions on accounts. I've done it with UK and Aus.

Thanks, I think I'll do that in the end, it's becoming clearer what options I have. My only issue still is the PS Plus, I'm not sure what to do with it. If I keep using it in the UK I'll have to pay twice as much and I won't get the better PS Plus deals in the US.
But If I stop paying it in the UK and get the US one, I lose a lot of the games I collected on it up to this point.

I know it's not very helpful But you may have to get it for both. I know it's a silly answer but when it comes to accounts and what you're trying to do, it's not a case of Sony making it very difficult... it's simply that you can't do it. There's no way around it (that I know of).

Money is money and everyone should look after what they earn, but potentially if you can keep getting both when they're on sale, it would still only be around £60-£70 for both, for a year... it could be worse.

My UK Plus runs out soon but I've managed to get it for £35 or something, maybe £39.99, every time. So I'm waiting to see a retailer do a deal like that again.

Yeah, I think around Black Friday it usually happens, so I'll just get a few years worth to stack them.

I've never paid full whack for PS Plus. Even outside of the sales, Shopto, CdKeys and Simply Games all have them significantly reduced here in the UK.

Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
