So I just bought my PS5 today and everything works great. Every game works perfectly except Spider-Man Miles Morales. I digitally downloaded the game and for some reason every time I stat the app the game completely freezes and crashes after the intro logos. Right after the Marvel logo the screen turns black. Does anyone else have this problem??? There are no refunds on PS Store and I don’t know what to do! Please help

Hey there,

Unfortunately I don't think many will be able to help here - most of us are still waiting for our orders.

I'd get straight on to Sony Support via their website and if you get no response, try tweeting them so that it gets made public. If you be as detailed as possible and add in your details, they may well refund your or help diagnose it.

Now I may be an idiot, but there's one thing I am not sir, and that sir, is an idiot

Have you tried uninstalling it and downloading it again?

I’ve uninstalled it and installed it again three different times. I even deleted the entire PS5 and Reset it. Every time I download the game I have the same problem. It crashes in the opening cutscene.

It doesn’t let me. The game crashes just as the cutscene starts. And since I’ve never played it before, it won’t even get to the main menu of the game.

Hey bud,

Got mine yesterday also. Are you making sure that you are playing the ps5 version? I know a couple of streamers that accidentally played the ps4 version. Maybe it is bugged out for you. If not, I am not sure what to tell you. You may have gotten a defective console. If this is the case, I would recommend reaching out to playstation support. My launch ps4 bricked after two weeks and they got me a new one within a week. Hope that all turns out well.

Best!

Edit: I recommend factory resetting the console if everything else fails. Sometimes that sorts out the issue. Make sure you backup your saves though.

I also encountered a but where Miles glitched out and was running around in circles while I was being attacked. I couldn't do anything coz the Dualsence was unresponsive. After I died I was stuck on a black screen and had to do a hard reset on the ps5 to fix it. I'm actually scared to play the game in fear on my console bricking!😞

I'm having the same issue, ive reinstalled, factory reset, reinstalled firmware but still can't start the game. But I actually kind of found way to at least start the game through spider-man remastered. When in spider-man remastered. It gets to the menu and then you can choose options, performance or fidelity mode. i think it defaults to fidelity mode. I start the game and it crashes. I restart and them choose performance mode and the game starts. But miles morales defaults to fidelity mode before options can be choosen and that's why it crashes. I forced games to performance mode in the default options in the system and the game started. Im still not sure if i have a defect in my system but i have reported it to insomniac. I hope this helps you. Its not ideal cause id rather use the fidelity mode but at least for me i can play the game.

Mine crashes too, doest matter if it's fidelity mode or performance mode.
I've tried just about anything but nothing seems to work, it doesn't go past the main menu.
(Same applies to Spider-Man Remastered)
