Topic: PS5 processing 99%

Playstation 5 stating processing 99% then won't advance any further... Tried to boot into safe mode but keeps going back to processing screen.. Any ideas?

What is it processing an update or a game install??

No idea.. My son woke up in the morning and his ps5 was on and stating processing??

did it power off in the middle of a game or something? if there's a disc in the PS5, try removing it.. otherwise, you could try and reinstall the latest firmware update from USB - https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/support/hardware/ps5/system...

however, if you can't even get into safe mode at all (with the console off - hold the power button, til it beeps a second time after about 10 seconds) to use any of the options, then i'd suggest contacting playstation customer support - it might have to go back to sony to get fixed.

@leucocyte thanks for the info. Can't even get into the safe mode menus to be able to download the update as all that appears even in safe mode is a processing 99% screen. Think it will have to go back to Sony... That's if I can ever get in touch with them without them hanging up!!!
