I have gotten each Playstation system. First, my mom and dad got me the playstation. Then, my mom the ps2. I was in a coma for a bit in 03. haha I got a PS3 years after it was out. I was an Xbox 360 fan way back when. I pre ordered the PS4. Man, the PS4, it is everything you need for entertainment and more. I then got the pro when it when on sale.

Now, I turned 35 this year. But, I still play games a lot. After my accident, I was left with about 8% of my vision. So, I have no job right now. I just get to relax and live a peaceful life. I was wondering if I should get the next gen. Playstation. I don't feel above the age to game. I will always love video games. But, after all the stuff I have pre ordered, haha and believe me, there are lots of things, I understand that there really is no point. I had the PS4 and One pre ordered. Which, was stupid. That cost me so much. I never play my One. I loved the xBox and the 360. I just feel like Microsoft has lost focus. But, after thinking about it, even at the age I am, excitement still fills me when a new system comes out. I love tech so much. So, I thought, I guess I will pre order the PS5.

Living in Maryland, I have not found anyplace you can pre order yet. But then, I got an email from Sony, giving me a link that let me put my ID in, to get an email of when I could pre order the system through them. Now, I know, that does not mean I will get the chance. But, it is still super exciting.

I have no debt. I pay a monthly cell bill. I mean, for the service. I pay for like five streaming services. Apple Music and two indoor storage units. So, I find myself lucky enough, to have what I need to get the system.

No price. No release date. COVID. That all makes me wonder. Will the system even be released this year? Just how high WILL the price be? Has the COVID virus slowed the production down?

But, I don't care. As long as the system does not cost, I don't know, $800, I will get it. The only thing that had me thinking about that, was something I read, about the system only lasting 4-5 years. I think that would be a bit foolish. If I spend $500-$600 on something, then after four years, be told to spend even more, getting another, well, I may get the one out now, but I would not get the new version.

It is an interesting time to be a gamer. I switched to Mac. after reading the Steve Jobs bio years ago. So, I can't play most of the big name games. haha

What are you thoughts on pre ordering the new system? If you could pre order tomorrow, would you? I mean, not knowing the price or the release date. I am guessing, if the price were to high, you could always cancel. See, I have pre ordered hundreds and hundreds of things from Amazon. Since I have 8% of my vision and cannot drive, the internet is my goto place for buying most things. But, if I could pre order right from Sony, I would be happy to. So, what about you? Would you pre order from Sony, or wait until your favorite retailer has them available?

@Glowzinski There's no harm in waiting six months. Sony will ensure there are plenty of PS5s available online and at retail, and via their own store, and you'll have time to see if there are any launch bugs or other technical issues with the hardware. You can also read what other gamers think of the console, including those with similar disabilities (some of the disabled gamer charities will no doubt review it, and all of its major launch games, allowing you to make informed choices).

Sony emailing you that convoluted "register your interest" process is simply a marketing ploy designed to get you hyped. Don't play on their terms, play on yours. Get it when you know it's right for you.
