So I got my PS5 yesterday and went on a bit of a mad spending splurge but I keep getting messages saying that there isn't enough storage to install all the games (I think I've solved it though by buying an external 5TB HDD not SSD that is compatible with the PS5 so hopefully the console will just let me save and install from that)
Could someone please tell me if all the games I have installed take me over that 2TB limit:
Resident Evil Village
Hades
Clair Obscur
Returnal
The Last Of Us Part II
Assassin's Creed Shadows
Far Cry 6
Astro Bot
Super Stardust Portable
Patapon 3
Dead Space
Baldur's Gate 3
and am currently downloading God Of War Ragnarok.
Iv'e been told that if you have multiple downloads queued that it can cause problems with the PS5's storage system and they were all queued with me so maybe that is causing a problem or am I just being too greedy!
That's a lot of games. Go to your home screen then settings (the cog between the magnifying glass and your PSN avatar) then Storage, Console Storage, Games and Apps. It will show the size of each game. You'll also see a bar that shows your used/available space. I've never seen anyone install that many at once, I don't know that you're being too greedy, more a case that you are stressing the consoles limits. The console still needs room to download and install even when a user thinks they have memory left, you risk running into performance issues, crashes and updates failing to install if you don't give the machine/your hard drive some breathing room.

That list shouldn’t be anywhere near 2TB, probably 1TB would be my guess.
As for problems having multiple games queued up to download, I haven’t heard of any such issues and I would be surprised if there was any substance in that rumour as a download won’t start until the previous download had finished. But that is just my two cents.
Enjoy your new machine, a great list of games you have there.
In my experience when downloading multiple titles, the console will download one game at a time with the rest will be in a que. If it turns out there is not enough space, you will get an error message before the game starts to download.

My guess is that there is some type of error reporting what space is available, I mean on my storage section it shows that there isn't the space to install anything but I have installed things since then (just for trial) and they've installed without any problem, it seems completely arbitrary when it's deciding that there isn't enough space eg: it wouldn't install Sifu citing not enough storage but since then I've installed things with much larger file sizes without any problem, just doesn't make any sense to me.
Don't know if this makes any difference but I've noticed that whenever I'm downloading/installing there's a little red circle with an exclamation mark inside attached to the downloads icon, it seems to indicate that there's a problem but the downloads continue as normal.
I've had a similar problem on the PS4. Multiple items in the download queue and it was trying to do a system software update which kept screwing around with the "order of operation" and it couldn't reconcile what to complete first.
From memory the solution was: pause all downloads, clear cache (turn off console and unplug from wall for 10mins), turn on, software update, restart, then allow each title to download one at a time.
I have absolutely no idea if the PS5 works in the same way at all.

I really can't figure out what is going on with the downloads, I have installed more since I originally posted and they all worked fine apart from having that red exclamation mark on the downloads icon but have since tried uninstalling the Doom the Dark Ages and Death Stranding 2 trials to free up enough space to install Ghost Of Yotei only to be told understandably that I don't have enough space to reinstall them, however if I try to install older games like Prey and Fallout 4 they both work, I wish I could get this sorted out now as it is incredibly annoying why are some games saying that I don't have the space to install them and others are not.
