Topic: GTA 6 Thread

I preordered it a month or two ago. I think it looks incredible, but I do wish I had waited.

Also things considered, I’d have voted for RDR3 every single time, but what can you do.

@GirlVersusGame To be honest the whole trailer thing was just a passing thought for me so I can't say I given any of it much thought just yet so haven't any perspectives to share right now but appreciate your thoughts on it.

@Ravix I've noticed that chap has done a few videos now (I watched the first) so I'll probably have some thoughts once I have checked them all out.

Been listening to all the songs from the extended look all morning while I’ve been doing a few chores and working out… banger after banger fair play!

The soundtrack is make or break for me, I enjoy the aspect of driving around to block rocking beats too much.
So far from what i have heard it is spot on, for that genuine 80s feel....even Phil Collins is back in GTA, did he ever leave?!

@CaptD he even had a part in Vice City or Vice City Stories iirc. I think the Phil track will play after Jay and Lu break up (temporarily at least… I hope ☺️).

@psmr I'm trying to think, but I don't think R* have made had a bad sound track(?) Think my favourite is Vice City's followed by 4's, I would also like to add the Bully's OST absolutely slaps!

This song playing at the very end of the extended look as the VI appeared gave me goosebumps. Absolutely glorious.

@Oram77 yeah they’re always good but recency-bias aside, I actually think they may out do themselves this time given the quality of the tracks unveiled this far.

@ApostateMage I recognised the tune, but couldn't quite place it as I heard it a few years back. The EP is available on Apple Music (and most likely other streaming services) if peeps are interested.

Although I think the 26 minute Netflix deep dive was great and looked fantastic, I feel as though the characters didn't exude outstanding personalities. Maybe I've been spoiled by the drama-stuffed trio of Michael, Franklin and Trevor from GTA V, but Lucia and Jason don't grab me and hold my attention like they ought to.

The variety of new vehicles and the flavour of GTA VI seems distinguishable enough from previous GTA games, which is definitely a good thing though.

I've had time to subconsciously unpack things and i've read some discussions away from the "I hate his voice" type stuff, and now I'm really excited for the characters and the storytelling.

It is probably overall a bit more subtle than GTA 5 (apart from the Raul's of this world 😁) and over the last day or so it's really hit me that Jason's voice is not just his voice, it is a window into his entire character. He seems like 100% a tragic character, not just an introvert or boring as people seem to also be saying, it feels far deeper than that. And the more you see his subtle reactions and mannerisms the better it gets. I'm not going to commit to it being specifically 'this or that' or mention all the instances where he has subtle tells and reactions that relate to his internal thoughts of what is happening to him and Lucia, and it could be a whole mixture of things, past traumas etc too. But the more you watch him the more you see it, and that is all i'll say on that.

It may be the newest of the 'he asked for no pickles' memes. But it is also a taste of some of that very intentional character building and storytelling. Plus Lucia is fierce as f*** 😅
