@LN78 Caria Manor basically made me run away from enemies! The hands that eat you are horrible looking. Great boss at the end though and very interesting quests opened up after beating it.
I've been using Bloody Slash and can confirm it destroys everything I've faced so far. Definitely recommended if you fancy a change from Unsheath.
Seconded... I've just had BS Art equipped for a day or so, and it is a God-send against armored enemies. I didn't realise either that the distance of the attack is pretty generous, and you don't need to be right up in front of an enemy for it to land.
How is the rest of your build currently looking? What are you working towards and/or pushing for? I have the 'Bloodflame Blade' incantation in my roster, but I need to level up my faith to 12(?) so I am proficient enough to start using it!
Loving the game still, just wasting hours exploring and getting lost in this world...
@CJD87 Yeah I can't wait to try it on some enemies which handed me my backside to me earlier.
As for my build, I gone for Dex and vigor with Mind as a third stat. I did start putting some into Int so I could wield some of the better Katanas, but I think I will just respec at that point.
Think I've cleared the majority of Weeping Peninsula, just got the castle to go for.

Alright everyone? Have we set up a group password for leaving messages etc? Means as fellow Push Square folk we can leave helpful advice which appears differently to regular messages. I propose (if this hasn't been done already) setting the group password as PUSHSQUA (it won't let us put the whole name due to the character limit). One word, all caps. To do this then hit options in game, then go to multiplayer, then hit triangle. It'll let you set different group passwords and means we're all more likely to be matched for jolly cooperation.
Got the third and final Knight of the Great Jar down to a fraction of its health bad but died. Apparently they’re endgame opponents though so I’m out of there 😂
@JohnnyShoulder Ah decent mate, and my build is quite similar. I've pumped DEX & Health/Vigor both to about 26/27ish, then thrown a bit into END to make sure those katanas keep swinging...
I wish I'd know more about incantation requirements earlier though, as I am about lv 42 now.... and it is taking increasingly longer to level up! I need to push my ARC to 10 and FAITH to 12 so I can start toying with Bloodflame Blade.
So you're on your way to Stormveil now? It is completely wild, and a real masterpiece of game design... you won't believe how huge it is!
Have you tackled Margit yet? (boss before you get to Stormveil)
@CJD87 Yeah same here with all the 'magic' stats, I'm a bit worried spreading my stats all over the place. Suppose there is no harm in levelling them up a bit though.
Ah no, I have ventured into Stormveil after defeating Margit, think I'm 3 or 4 Graces in. There was a banished Knight which was giving me problems. Think now I'm using bloody slash that shouldn't be the case anymore.
It's Castle Morne I was about to head into to. It's pretty cool, there is a siege going on with battles and stuff. Enemies aren't too bad but I did die to a pack of rats. Doh!
How about you, where have you got up to in the game?

After thinking I was big and clever and Elden Ring was too easy for a badass like me, I've now started hitting some tough enemies. I struggled a bit with the twofer in the red castle - not too much but they killed me probably a dozen times which is more than any other encounter so far. Now I'm on the big one in the desert and I only tried it three or four times and it seems tough.
So I picked up the game. I’ve only played around 3 hours but I’m enjoying it. I was getting a bit frustrated as I had a ton of runes but no way to level up- so I definitely ended up in areas I really should not have been.
I did swap around the controls. Jump for me is triangle, interaction is X & dodge is is circle.

@Fight_Teza_Fight i messed about with the healing controls and that helped me if your remapping things I mapped healing and magic flasks to a pouch shortcut, rather than have to cycle through equipment at the bottom and it's really useful for boss fights.
@johncalmc don't worry, I haven't had to look in the margins for difficulty! After making it through stormveil castle, Godrick wasted me. I can cake walk that first phase but that second one wipes me out! . I went to Castle Mourn to level up some more and will hopefully have another go tonight.
@JohnnyShoulder Yes I did Castle Mourne before Stormveil, and felt it did well to prepare me for the tougher enemies!
I've done Stormveil, beaten Godrick etc, and now focussing on my build and levelling up / exploring a bit. The next stages following the Stormveil castle are proving pretty rough for me, so I figure getting some better gear and upgrading weapons would help me.
Going to spend some time in the smaller dungeons also. I love how the formula allows you to take the game at your own pace, breaking off from Main Story if needed... just so good! Good luck with Stormveil, am sure Bloody Slash will see you through
