A heads up to those who are interested—El Paso, Elsewhere is finally releasing on PS5 tomorrow. I’ll be picking up the game day one. It looks awesome and it has a strong critical reception. It’s been a long time coming, but it will finally be here soon. Who else buying it?
Was the digital PSN version delayed again as well, from what I understood, the Physical copy comes out 9/27 but digital 9/20, it’s not on the store yet…I wonder if maybe it will show up later today??
I hope the digital version isn’t delayed. I’ve been looking forward to it all week. It’s 8:00 where I am, so most new games or what have you don’t release until noon. I’ll check the PS Store in a few hours!
Real strange that it hasn’t turned up yet. Have had my eye on this since it’s release on PC and Xbox last year… hopefully we’ll have some good news sooner rather than later.
It’s still not showing on the PS Store. This is bizarre. If you type in the name of the game and PS5 on google, it says that it released today. I hope it will show up soon because it seems like a great weekend game.
@Yousef- yeah it released on PC and Xbox around 12 months ago… must’ve had some timed-exclusivity or something. I saw it on a load of peoples indie/AA GotY for 2023.
I just got an update from the developer on Twitter. They said, replying to me and others, “Hi all! It's been delayed a little unfortunately but it shouldn't be too long! We will keep you up to date!”. It’s a bummer, but I’m glad to get a response.
So… after a bit of digging, the game released on Xbox on 26 Sept 2023. I’m guessing that Xbox had a 12 month exclusivity and for whatever reason someone got the dates wrong. See you next week 🤣
@JOSCH I have to agree—it is quite unprofessional considering this is twice that it has happened and there is a lack of communication. I hope the “next time” will be the final time. Didn’t it release on IoS today too?
@colonelkilgore Strange how they just didnt publicly announce that? Even if they didn't specifically mentioned the timed exlusivity part. I've never heard the game before , but will look into it now.
Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
@JohnnyShoulder it’s like an indie homage to Max Payne 1 & 2 with a pinch of Shadowman and had a decent pop from the people who played it back last year. Looks like an old school good time tbh.
About the potential exclusivity etc. it’s probably similar to the Vampire Survivors situation. The dev remained radio silent on any prospect of a ps5 version of that for ages (pretty sure that was actually over a year) before anything was said. NDA’s are probably part of the exclusivity contracts (from both Sony and Microsoft) I’d imagine.
Well, we might not have gotten El Paso Elsewhere last Friday… but it looks like we’re getting what I can only assume to be the sequel on 27th - El Paso Everywhere 🤣:
Officially 9/27 where I'm at and don't see it yet on PS Store, despite seeing other new games show up after midnight.
Good news is unlike other times I checked past midnight, retailers still have 9/27 listed with no date change for the physical copy. May be dropping midnight PST or in the morning/mid-day.
Another week, another day where the game doesn’t release. The developers responded on X once again saying they will release it, and as soon as there is an update they will inform everyone. Ugh.
