Topic: Can you continue unfinished trophies for a ps4 game on ps5?

Example: I finished Nioh 2 on ps4, but I am missing trophies that I want to get. If I transfer my save data (already did) through the cloud, can I continue getting the other trophies on ps5? No trophy progress resets? Has anyone found a problem with any game while trying to platinum it?

If it's a PS4 game played via backwards compatibility, it's the same game and it's the same trophy list - you keep any trophies you got on PS4 and can get the rest on PS5 (I did this with God of War, got the remaining trophies for my platinum after 3 years).

If it's an upgrade to a native PS5 version, the trophy list is separate but some games will automatically pop any trophies you already had when you import your saved game (Spider-Man does this). Other games won't and you'll have to start over if you care about trophies (Mortal Kombat 11 does this).

Yeah. MK11 doesn't pop them. I'm missing one trophy for siege for the platinum but I know that game pops them. Rogue Company gave me the fastest platinum lol.

I obviously prefer to finish those platinums on ps5, so that's good to hear. If I get a good ssd, idk if I might turn on my ps4 pro lol.

Yes you can however for different console versions of the game; for example Crash Bandicoot 4 has a PS4 and PS5 version, they have separate trophy lists which was kind of annoying considering I was 3/4's of the way through the game on the PS4 version.

This is a good question, and thanks for the answers. I have a lot of games that i would like to play a second time, but am waiting to eventually do so on the PS5, and this is something that I'd thought about.
