Got my PS5 on release day in the UK. From day one after about 10 mins of play the left stick becomes very sensitive and just placing my thumb on it makes it start drifting to the left and i have to push in the button and and do a few 360s on the stick its self to get it to stop and i have to 'flick' the controls constantly or it happens again. The right stick only slightly moves around but only when im aiming at somthing making it impossibe to get any long distant shots. At first all the buttons are fine and then after a while the Dpad starts squeeking when i push buttons and my X button starts to stick in. If i turn off the controller and leave it for 10 mins it works fine but back again within another 10 min. I only play 2 games Dayz and Cyberpunk and its happening in both games. ive got a Ps4 controller and its doing the same thing but drifts up instead and the issue isnt there on my PS4PRO. Im very confused as to if its the games the console or the controllers. Any ideas would be great before i get on the phone to sony for a replacement.

I don' t have a PS5, but with the DS4 with my PS4 i have had stick drift. The drift is usually with the right stick. The drift can be slight or severe. For me it is not if but when my DS4 starts to get stick drift.

One new DS4 developed severe right stick drift after about 10 days of use. The camera in Borderlands and GTA 5 would spine in a circle to the right and web pages would auto scroll. I play several hours every day so i am not too upset if my DS4 lasts only 6-8 months, but not after only about 10 days.

Overall the stick drift is a design and or manufacturing problem. A video i viewed of a disassembled Dual Sense revealed that the stick unit looked the same as the stick unit of the DS4. My hope was for a design where a malfunctioning stick unit could easily be removed and a new one inserted.

The trick of blowing into the stick opening is an often given fix for DS4 stick drift, but has never worked for me. Do some searches, youtube first, for any tips and tricks for the Dual Sense.

No I’m not experiencing the Dualsense drift. I would definitely try calling sony to help you with that, hopefully repair it for free. I do notice my O button is more “clicky” than any other button out of the box but not worth the complaining really.
