Just platinumed Criminal Girls: Invite Only on the PS Vita. I've played it before, but this is my first time fully completing it, and I was surprised by how fun it was this second go around. The low-budget presentation works well thanks to the game's crisp pixel art and vivid color palette, which complements the system's OLED screen nicely. The battle system, while unusual, has a pleasing tactical element to it that made boss fights engaging. The characters are also surprisingly well-developed. Crucially, it's one of those games where the platinum trophy guides you toward 100%ing all of the substantive content in the game, so there's no boring filler trophies to worry about in the process.
Too bad the softcore porn minigames, even censored, make it difficult to recommend to others.
Currently Playing: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (NS2); Corpse Factory (PC)
Platinum #111 - Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice - what a game! I enjoyed it during my first playthrough a few years back but… returning to it was a minor revelation. Probably in my all-time top 10 games now if I’m honest!
@xeofate yeah trophy hunting is a bit of a strange gaming-appendage. To some (like me) it is so complementary to the larger medium that it has amplified the enjoyment I get from gaming quite a bit (more than it actually should in all probability 😅). But for others, it’s a silly add-on with no real meaning or merit. It’s really a matter of horses-for-courses I think.
Anyway, well done on achieving the Age of Stars ending on Elden Ring, it was the most involved ending to get iirc 👍
@xeofate a perfectly understanding modus operandi. It comes down to personal enjoyment above all else when it comes to hobbies and pastimes such as video games.
@colonelkilgore Congrats on that Sekiro platinum. I'm amazed that you managed to fly through that as quickly as you did. I need to get back to it as I did the first few bosses and then got subverted onto something else. I do enjoy the game but parrying is not my thing so makes it a lot harder but you are right what you say about it being the way to play the game.
@RogerRoger I read about your struggles on Sifu bud… and I was really struggling with one of Sekiro’s bosses at the time. When I finally beat him though the satisfaction was immense. Hopefully you’ll feel the same if you stick with it 👍
@render it was pretty much mainlining it on ng+ tbh buddy, as I’d done all the donkey-work back when I played through it the first time. It still took around 20-25 hours mind, as I got seriously held up by a few bosses. Definitely push yourself to parry though, I had to force myself… and while it still doesn’t feel totally natural to me, I certainly had some moments where it truly clicked and it felt glorious.
@xeofate well, I’ll be real interested to hear how you get on when you do mate. And definitely make use of the Sekiro OT thread on here as a resource… i along with many on here will be happy to help.
@colonelkilgore Thanks! I'll never be a trophy hunting machine like you are, but obtaining a platinum trophy is always a very nice way to cap off an otherwise satisfying gaming experience.
Particular congrats on Sekiro. Platting anything by FromSoft is a definite achievement.
@colonelkilgore
Yeah it definitely had something didn't it, not sure if it would have held up if it was a longer game but I liked it at the time.
Congrats btw.

@sorteddan@render ahh this one was only a quickie to be fair… still fun though. Gonna concentrate on clearing a few PS3 games from the backlog now. If I slot a few more quickies in amongst them, I might just ease my OCD and end the year on a round number 😅
@RogerRoger cheers buddy… and yeah I reckon #120 might just be on if I subsidise each game I play with an easy-breezy plat like Foreclosed.
I haven’t actually played Sifu yet tbh… I have it on the shelf but haven’t gotten around to it. Well aware that it’ll be a challenge though. Out of interest, what is it you’re working on now?
@RogerRoger oooh… ouch! A 9/10 eh… well I’m sure you won’t need it (being the Sonic fan that you are) but good luck buddy. What thread are you gonna be posting your exploits in, I’ll be interested to read-all-about-it as it were?
@RogerRoger dude, you’re gonna stop me from chasing plats out of embarrassment at this rate 😳. I’ll just start leaving all my games one bronze short on purpose 😅
Platinum #43 is God Of War Ragnarok
58 hours on Give Me No Mercy difficulty, several of which were just repeated attempts at the optional post-game fight (there's a trophy for that).
Of course - just like with the king of berserkers, I ended up not even using the resurrection stone in the successful attempt
