@nessisonett@RogerRoger
Congratulations I you both with your nostalgia film franchise fandom trophy achievements.
And to @Voltan in sure you'll be done before I'm back in here later so congrats in advance for that one. Was wondering who was going to be first with Stray.
“We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.”
Aaaaand Platinum #40 is Stray. Final time of the "speedrun": 1h 45m. Wasn't even super optimized - I also made sure to scratch in every chapter (some only have one spot you can do it) to get the "Territory" trophy while at it and died a few times in some of the Zurk and Sentinel sequences.
@ThereThere There's not much to it - as long as you remember the puzzles, do none of the side content, skip all dialogue and hold the run button at all times, it shouldn't be much of a problem
@Voltan Good job. I’ll probably go for that one myself as I’m really enjoying the game. Not sure when I’ll wrap it up though as I’m not very far into my first play through but already scratched quite a bit 😀
@The_Moose Nice work as well, that sounds like a tough one ☝️
@The_Moose. Grats on the platinum,. Sounds like a lot of work.
@RogerRoger Grats on another Star wars platinum. Really shows you're a big fan.
@Voltan Gz on the Stray platinum. I finished it but not going to platinum it. I must be one of the only ones if I look on this site but I didn't really enjoy the game that much. The only being able to jump on fixed positions and the puzzles which were so easy they shouldnt even have been puzzles were a big let down. Also not a fan of the zurk chasing and the jail level, was hoping that the game would be more relaxing, but those parts were all but. Oh well good to see others are enjoying it
Platinum #97 - Paradise Killer - never really played a pure detective game before this… and I enjoyed it. I did find myself mashing through the text eventually, which probably isn’t the way it should be played but I do find I get impatient with any element of any game that isn’t ‘gameplay’ (or what I would call gameplay anyway)… but having said that you can easily read between the lines of the story and use your knowledge of the medium to follow what is going on and required etc. A unique and worthy diversion from the norm.
@RogerRoger@render@ThereThere@The_Moose cheers guys, I’m bracing myself for a distinct lack of any platinum whatsoever between what will soon be #98, #99 and what in the distant future will be #100… keep an eye on me during what will be some dark months will ya 😔
@JudgeDredd great plan! It was something I was mulling-over in fairness… but in the end I just thought if there was ever a time to try and get that Red Dead 2 plat, it would be while I have 3-4 months where my plat-count is on hiatus. If I manage to get one trophy away on Red Dead, I’ll deffo start chipping away at a few others though 👍
@The_Moose
Nice one. I remember how much that was doing you in so just be a massive sense of accomplishment to have now put it behind you, we done!
@colonelkilgore
gz on your latest. Not a genre I've spent any time with. Is it something you'd recommend?
I was about to recommended exactly what @JudgeDredd has already done. Just imagine achieving and posting about all them in one go, you would be undisputed champion of the trophy thread
“We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.”
@sorteddan it’s definitely a game I’d suggest for when you're looking for something a bit different. I didn’t know what I was looking for when I started it… but I clicked with it very quickly. Cool little open-world (well open-island) map to explore, interesting characters and dynamics… and just pretty chilled.
I do like the idea of getting a load of games to the point of the plat and popping them all in one day… but the possibility of getting that Red Dead 2 plat is just too strong a draw. I’ve felt that I should give the game another chance since ditching it at release… and one of the reasons I haven’t is just what a gruelling and time-consuming trophy list it has. I’m never gonna have an over-abundance of time again, so it just makes too much sense. Really hoping I click with the game this time,
@colonelkilgore
Oh it's undoubtedly a great game but can be really slow paced and maybe too realistic at times. I'm glad I saw it to completion but one I wouldn't even consider going for the plat due to the time commitment and as I know I wouldn't enjoy it.
But you are a different animal. You'll probably do it in a week - with no sleep!
“We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.”
@sorteddan that would be something to stream eh... a 350 hour live stream of the Red Dead 2 plat playrhrough with no breaks 😬.
In all honesty though, with how tough it all sounds, I'll just be happy to have everything done bar placing the squirrel ornament in its final resting place prior to Nov 9th.
@colonelkilgore I was thinking of a hypothetical— what are you going to do if the God of War Ragnarok platinum is one of those near impossible tasks? Like speed run a permadeath super hard mode or something. Or worse yet, what if there’s a PSN outage and trophies for a day are deleted and impossible to re-earn, so you get locked out of the GoW plat because of a system of glitch. That happened to me and Assassin’s Creed 2.
“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”
#24 - Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7. Bit of a step down in quality but that’s also true of the movies it’s based on. Not too hard a list and decently fun.
