Hello, everyone. I'm from Brazil and Sony just announced that the PS4 will cost R$3.999,00, which is almost U$2.000,00. The announcement is on their brazilian blog: http://blog.br.playstation.com/2013/10/ … co-do-ps4/ The strange thing is that the Xbox One will cost R$2.199,00, which is almost U$1.200,00. Sony is really ripping us off and I'm glad that I decided to wait to buy the PS4, as I just got the Wii U and there isn't any games at launch or in the first year that makes me want to buy it.
Usually the companies blames the taxes, which are very high, but in this case, considering that the Xbox One will cost almost half the price here, it is just greed.

Here in europe it's just 400 so maybe try importing?

I'll definetely import. I got my PS3 for U$200,00 on ebay and I wasn't charged any taxes here, so it was really cheap. However, I did wait more than 3 years after launch to get it...
Yeah, I could import legally from Amazon, which charge almost 100% of the price of the product for taxes, and it would still be half off.
So 800 dollars then... It's still alot. What is up with the taxes in your country.. Outrages:S Is everything that expense?
Games here are very expensive. All PS3 and Wii U games at launch cost around U$100,00. Vita games cost almost U$80,00. 3DS games are around U$60,00, which is one of the reasons that it's my most played system (the games are great too). However, almost all games drop the price to half whithin a year. I can get cheaper games on ebay and some sites here charge a lot less, but I usually wait a bit to pay a price that is a little more fair.

Can I quote you on this the next time people in Australia complain about their price problem as if they're the only ones with that kind of problem?
Of course. Although I must say I'm sympathetic towards them because I hear that the games there take forever to launch, which, at least, isn't that big an issue around here.
