My son will be thrilled for sure.  We have had quite the fun time playing minecraft coop on the ps3.  What sore of enhancements are being made on the ps4 version?

Why did it take so long for developers to come out with minecraft on both the PS3 and PS4.  Did Microsoft have some timed exclusive deal on this game or something?

I'm getting super stoked, I have my money ready for the moment it hits the PSN Store.

@ Demi_God

I wouldn't be too surprised Microsoft made a deal like that with Mojang, a theory only supported by the recent "Rise of the Tomb Raider debacle."

@ SonyInfinity

It also has 51 trophies over the last gen's 29 trophies, but I suppose that's something not everyone will exactly get excited for.

Here's my question if anyone has it:

Can multiple friends play in the same world at different times? Meaning can my friends and I all play on the same world even if we're not all on at the same time. I want us to be able to play together, but we don't always play at the same time. On PC, this required an optional server renting fee, so I'm assuming it will on PS4 as well if it even supports this type of feature.

My son loves it, along with everyrhing Lego, but unless I am playing it with him I find no enjoyment in it.  I do respect it for what it is and I appreciate the popularity of a game that is not based solely around killing things.  Guess I am jist a little to old for maximum Minecraft enjoyment, lol.

I figure this is the best place to ask this - can you guys please explain to me what the draw of Minecraft is? Like, why should I play this game?

I've sat and watched my young cousins playing the android version, and it just looked like the most tedious experience I had ever seen. Now before people jump on me for that, I'm not advocating that the game IS rubbish, I just don't think I got a very good showcase of it. I am still perfectly open to the idea that it is probably a decent game.

And for it to be such a cultural phenomenon I assume there must be something about it that I just wasn't getting from what I saw. More than willing to give it a chance, but I'm just interested to hear, direct from the people that love it, what it is that's supposed to make this game so special?

From 16/08/15 I’m going for sober for six months to raise money for the Princess Alice Hospice. Donations can be made here and anything you can offer is greatly appreciated: https://www.justgiving.com/Stephen-Butler5

Wish me luck!

Well you can play couch or multiplayer coop and basically create your own world and your own adventures.  Much better on survival mode when the night falls the fighting begins.  To me it is an advanced lego sim and we all know kids love legos, lol.  Plus you can actually build things to scale and there are remarkable things being built and already built in the minecraft world.  If I am not mistaken,  Denmark sanctioned a group of ten mineceraft players to recreate the ENTIRE country on minecraft, using imaging satellites.  We are talking roads, houses, hills, the whole works.  Pretty cool IMO.

Id need some direction please,
Im fine with mining a whole mountain and going as deep as to the bedrock to get the stuff I need, but I hardly ever find iron. Any tips?

Top 5 Indies I'd recommend you try: #1 Lovecraft's Untold Stories, #2 Moonlighter, #3 Hotline Miami, #4 Inside, #5 Into the Breach.

I was having a real iron shortage for a while too. The best advice I can give is to try to explore pre-generated caves and mines rather than creating your own. When you discover a new cave, you'll instantly be able to see hundreds of new bricks rather than only seeing a couple every dig.

Also, I believe iron is more likely to be generated closer to the surface, so don't dig too deep!

Allright, that should help me out a bit I guess!
Anyone else running into the problem that a newly generated world mostly puts me in the middle of a jungle, without any animals, on top of a really huge tree?!

I got soooo lucky with my "multiplayer" seed. I'm on the coast of the ocean between a jungle, some plains, and a desert. Below my spawn is a HUGE cavern of complex caves full of coal.

My solo play seed spawned me in a jungle mountain of trees and wolf. I call it Wolf Island

I just started playing Minecraft for the first time literally yesterday. I'm only level two. (I've killed two spiders! In the day...) I spawned in a mostly flat forest so I had to dig my house out of the dirt and guess what? There's like no stone around! I don't know how I managed that one but there aren't any mountains or anything. Across some water there is a desert. I've gone around pretty decently and I thought I had a good bead on some stone in this hill but almost immediately it turned into an underground lake.

I'm afraid to go too far from my little house, though, lol, because I'm still bad at making shelter for the night, especially without a mountain to dig into.
