@KratosMD Ha ha I have a tendency to remember so weird stuff at times,

@KratosMD Glad you’re enjoying KH1! I’m doing another run through of all the games- currently at KH2 on Critical & I’d highly recommend not skipping the spin-offs.
Chain of Memories is really a sequel in all but name & 358/2 days provides important context to Organisation XIII.
There are a number of characters that only show up in those games that get referenced later.

I’m starting to get hyped up for KH3 now! I think I may preorder that special edition PS4 Pro... .

@KratosMD Just play them in the way they’re laid out in the collection. Chain of Memories starts right after KH1 ends & 358/2 follows immediately after Chain of Memories and leads into the start of KH2.
It’s straightforward all the way up to KH2. It gets more complex with Birth by Sleep & Dream Drop Distance.
Just play it in the way it’s laid out in the collections & you’ll be fine (1.5->2.5->2.8).
I reckon you’ll enjoy CoM more than you’ll think at first @mookysam came around to it iirc 😉.

Been playing Dream Drop Distance HD in preparation for III and have finished the second world, which was based on The Hunchback of Notre Dame. I'd forgotten how much bigger the levels are compared to previous games, although they suffer from the usual post-KH2 problem of feeling empty, an issue exacerbated by the lack of party companions.
The port is very smooth and crisp, which I would expect given it was originally on much weaker hardware. Gameplay has some nice ideas - particularly zipping around with flowmotion, although I miss combat styles from Birth by Sleep.

@KratosMD I'd recommend playing through the games in the order they released, so play Birth by Sleep after Kingdom Hearts 2. Although it's chronologically the first story in the series, it's important to play after as then it will give more context without spoiling certain things.
With 358/2 days, although it is a prequel to 2, again play after as it will completely spoil elements of the story. To me it's the least essential game to play in the series for a number of factors.

Edit: Whoops, @Fight_Teza_Fight posted as I was typing. Yeah, I really enjoyed Chain of Memories. The card battle system is great fun, but you have to use the combos (called "sleights" in the game) or it will be really difficult!

I think it's been roughly 3-4 years since I did my KH1 and 2 playthrough on the HD versions of the game on the PS3. First time I beat those two games, and it was the first time I played the second game.

I remember playing the first game as a young lad when my brother and I borrowed it from one of his friends. The only thing I remember was using Action Replay to get a bunch of wonky cheat codes in the game. Outside of that, I never actually beat it until I played the HD versions many years later.

I'm looking forward to playing 3. I have all of the games on the PS4 now and with the 3rd game being so close to release, I should at least play through the little Aqua segment included on the 2.8 version.

@KratosMD you have to play on Proud Mode and do all that to get both BUT it's not really needed, if you want to watch them they are already unlocked in the Theater mode IF you download the free HD cutscenes DLC from the PS Store, it's not like they are spoilers anymore anyway

@KratosMD you should get the first after finishing the game and yes it contains EVERY cutscene from every game on the collection including the secret ones

@KratosMD Yep same here. Watching some tips on a Dark Souls 3 boss, and the next video playing was the final boss. Which was a spoiler.

@KratosMD Use incognito mode on google. It’ll delete your history once you’ve left the page so that way you don’t get spoiler recommendations.

@KratosMD Glad you enjoyed it! If you liked it that much, I'm eager to hear your thoughts on KH2, as it's just better in every conceivable way. You're in for a treat .

@Jaz007 @KratosMD Be careful though, if you then watch a video in YouTube you will get recommendations based on your watched history.

@KidBoruto I’m not aware of the 100 hour reset trick, but it doesn’t look like you left yourself enough time.

I completed Dream Drop Distance last night. I actually liked it more than I thought I would, but it is far from perfect. A lot of the things I've heard complaints for (Abilities tied to Dream Eaters, bosses being stupid hard, spacious world design) I've never really had an issue with. I didn't mind the Dream Eaters. Yeah, abilities being tied to them felt like a bad idea in the making, but I was able to go through the game fine enough with the early tier Dream Eaters. I played on normal, so it wasn't difficult until near the end, and even then, I didn't die a lot, I think a little over ten. I can see the complaints about the endgame bosses, especially Young Xehanort, but that particular example only took two attempts: readjusted my command deck and beat him handidly. The worlds were a little too open, I'll agree with. I will say though, it's nice that we got plenty of different worlds in this game compared to the norm.

But yeah, I just need to play 0.2 BBS and I'm ready for KH3. Waiting for the 29th sucks!

So I’ve finished KH2 and Terra and Ventus’s stories in Birth by Sleep. KH2 has such a great ending. Probably what’s brought me the closest to crying without being sad. ”I do have one thing you can’t copy.” “What?” “You as a friend.” oh that get me.
And the revelations so far in Birth by Sleep are crazy. Deep Space is terrible and Terra’s story could be better, great outline, but the execution and Terra’s character innir At ea let down. He’s better characterized in the store’s he’s not the center of.
All in I’m Howe’s for KH3. I just ordered 2.8 this morning.
