Hi, first post here so please go easy on me. Also a senior and a newbie to games. I bought a sniper game called Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 as it looked good. I am so inept that I can't even complete the training - it is so hard knowing what each button does. Is there a setting within the game to enable 'Idiot' mode?
@Adrian-Messenger I fear you’ve jumped in the deep end with that one. You probably want to start with something a lot simpler like doom (1993).
The original doom doesn’t look anywhere near as good. But modern games tend to have assumed knowledge that you don’t have.
Weirdly enough I was working in IT back in the late 80's until 2002. In the early 90's I was playing Wolfenstein, Xenon2, F-15E strike eagle, The curse of monkey island and other PC games.
@Adrian-Messenger stick with it buddy. Don’t be to proud to play on easy difficulty settings… and there is always a controller layout somewhere in the menu. Before too long you will be able to zone-out as the controls for each action becomes second nature. Short term pain for long term… erm fun 😉
@Adrian-Messenger If you're talking about changing a game's difficulty setting, then this is different for each individual game, and isn't a generalised setting on your PS4's dashboard.
Some games don't have difficulty settings at all, but those that do usually hide them in a menu called 'Options' or 'Settings', or will ask you to select a difficulty setting at the start of a new playthrough.
Some games lock you in to this initial choice, but others might let you change your difficulty settings on the fly. If you're partway through a game and find yourself struggling, press your controller's Options button (top right, between the touchpad and the Triangle button) to bring up its pause menu; see if you can find the setting in there somewhere.
Again, this process might vary from game to game, but it's the most universal tip I can think to give you, and should work for the majority of mainstream games.
If you have a question about a specific game, try reading its manual, which can be accessed either via the game's icon on your PS4's dashboard, or via Google. Or you can just ask here!
"We want different things, Crosshair. That doesn't mean that we have to be enemies."
@Anti-Matter judging from the games that @Adrian-Messenger has tried so far, I’d imagine that Horse Club Adventures may not be ‘quite’ to his taste… you’ve sold me though… I’m checking the price an Amazon now! 😉
@colonelkilgore
I have finished Horse Club Adventures PS4 last week. 🙂
It was such a peaceful game with girlie horse riding activities.
A true gentleman will not hesitate to play girlie games with some pinkish or rainbow colors.
