Topic: Grand Theft Auto on PS4 Discussion

I don't know about you guys, but I really want GTA V to come out on the PS4, that being said, I think RS would be crazy not to port it some time in the near-ish future. I was wondering if anyone else had the same thoughts on this. I'd love to see it come to the Eight generation consoles (and PC, of course) and I'm hearing of a plethora of gamers willing to double dip on it too. Thoughts?

I will admit I did enjoy the game, in fact it was the first GTA game I enjoyed alot since Vice City, but one playthrough was enough for me and with Online being broken well I wouldn't pay for this game again cause I rather use that money for other games that I haven't played yet.

Still I know alot of people who will and some people who will get it for the first time so it's not a bad idea and honestly it would be stupid of Rockstar not to capitalize on it.

Love the game, wouldn't re-buy it. I'm not supporting late cross-gen ports. If it's a game like MGS V Ground Zeroes which is cross-gen but day and date with all systems that's one thing. These late ports are ridiculous though.

I suppose I'm a little biased (I missed out on the PS3 last gen) and I want to see it come to this gen. I completely understand, and quite frankly if I had gotten it for PS3 I wouldn't get it again, unless there was the digital upgrade like that group of launch day games

Yeah its understandable if you missed it last gen, but as I said I already played it and completed it and once was enough for me.

I bought it and hammered it on old gen and I would definitely buy it for my ps4 just for the online mode, maybe all the bugs and exploits will be fixed and it would be amazing. If Rs could totally get rid of exploits and bugs GTA online could be something special. I would consider paying just for an online only package maybe, there's an idea.

Loved it, would buy it again one day further down the line - a good few years, as it's still fresh in the mind - but I really think there's more chance of Mario coming to PlayStation 4/Xbox One than GTA5 and there's no chance of that happening. Rockstar do what they want and if they wanted it to be on next/current gen then they would have delayed the release and had it on the new consoles. It won't happen.

But if they wanted another excuse to not release the Hiest DLC (seriously, what the fudge is the hold up?!) then porting it over is one.

Honestly I think if it was its own separate entity GTA Online would be alot better.  In order for it to be successful they would almost need a structure like Blizzard does with WoW or any other company with an MMO.  You would need a dedicated group to monitor the game for hackers and general trouble makers.  Sadly with GTA Online being tacked on to GTA V they dont have that structure and that's why it is the way it is.

I see your point, but they did say that they'd develop it and "be where the consumers are" on a different console if they saw a big demand for it. I'm not totally sure how big the current "demand" might be for an Eighth Gen release, but if enough people want it I think Rockstar would follow through on that. I wouldn't go so far as to say Nintendo would more readily develop Mario on PS4 before Rockstar ports GTA V. I totally see your point though.

I don't know man, I've got a feeling this is going to happen. Late ports are all the rage these days.

Only way I can see it happening is if it's a Game Of the Year edition with all the DLC. Thing is Rockstar will have to actually release the DLC first and they, clearly, can't be arsed doing anything other than a couple of haircuts and clothes put ridiculously priced cars in a hope people pay for in-game money.

Well it appears that another Portuguese retailer "confirmed" a launch for an Eight Gen and PC release and has also listed pre-orders. I'm not so sure how reliable they are but you guys can check it out on the website (it's in spanish, http://www.melty.es/gta-v-para-pc-ps4-y … 6594.html). I'm just trying to remain optimistic! haha

The best thing which they could do, in my opinion, is the only release the online on the PS4.
With how easy it is to connect with your friends on the PS4, it would be perfect!

I could definitely see that coming, but I actually would like to see the campaign on PS4 too. But that certainly seems like a logical thing to do, maybe release the campaign as DLC in the future, too.

Wow I retracted what I said early I am now thinking I might pick this one up for the PS4.  I hope they fix the Online portion by then though.

I'm hoping this announcement somewhat benefits those of us sticking with our last gen versions. Rockstar said it has some cool news on the way, hopefully more singleplayer missions for everybody.

I would be interested in that.  I think that was part of the reason I didn't enjoy GT Online too much is that I didn't know anyone that played it on the 360.  All my friends had it on PS3 .

Why would you stick with the PS3/360 version if you have a PS4?  They said that you will be able to transfer your stuff to the PS4 version.

Not a fan of re-buying games I already paid full price for once. If given a really good reason to upgrade, I can't say I wouldn't, but right now my plan is to stick with the version I already own.
