I’m incredibly excited for this one. Made by a core team of about 20 people with ample development time to realize their vision, it’s shaping up quite nicely. Seeing as there is still a fair amount of mystery surrounding it, along with in depth weapon crafting, character customization and a world where player choice appears to be fundamental, it feels like a game ripe for a dedicated thread to share our thoughts and experiences.

I'm curious to see how good it actually is. I won't be getting it this month but I'm relatively interested

@Voltan I’m not expecting a gigantic AAA level experience but small, cohesive, driven teams with a focused vision can accomplish an awful lot and what’s been revealed thus far sounds promising. From what I understand, even the music was created in-house.

@Elodin more than anything I’m hoping that exploration is truly rewarding. Sounds like there are puzzles too.

@Jecht_Ultima yeah it’s been a long time coming! Good on THQ Nordic to allow Experiment 101 the time needed. Hope it all comes together.

Dust an Elysian Tail was made by a small Team and I love that game. I am confident this game will be something special as well. I have it purchased so it's just a matter of downloading it as soon as it launches.

@RubyCarbuncle nice! The entire design philosophy around every idea here feels like, “how can we take this one step further?” It appears to me that a lot of heart has been poured into this.

I've not only been looking forward to this game for a LONG time, I actually bought it back in October of 2019, when Target included it as a preorder for a Buy 2 Get 1 free sale. At that point, it had a release date of January 2020. Obviously, that proved to be false, and after many months of back and forth, I got my money back. Having something that you've already paid for "cancelled" is always a pain in the rear end.

As it stands, I plan to drive to the store and buy it for real on release day next Tuesday, which is something I haven't done for any game in years now, even before Covid.

@Unlucky13 I phoned the store to make sure my pre-order was still in place (it was) and will also be making a trip to the store on Tuesday. I would really like that Atomic Edition but in no reality can I justify a $400 video game. We’re so close now, I think it’s gonna have been worth the wait!!

@Jimmer-jammer There was a point at the end of the PS3 era and start of the PS4 that I would sometimes by the deluxe edition of games I was really excited for to get a little bit of bonus content. But ten bucks more is one thing, I am never spending a HUGE amount of cash on any game, no matter how special it is. I'm not a collector of anything but the games themselves.

Bentleyma

I’m looking forward to it. I like that the developers have released videos showing how the games runs on a base PS4. Most developers wouldn’t do that.

@Bentleyma- The transparency is welcome and feels like an especially tasteful move after CDPR’s clumsy mishandling of this very same issue. From my understanding, X101 is comprised of some former Avalanche employees, with THQ Nordic taking a very hands-off approach with development. Hopefully that creative freedom comes together and signals a brighter future for both developers and players!

Only just noticed this in the FAQ:
"Sometime in the near-ish future: native version for PS5 and Xbox Series S/X"

Definitely waiting for that then!

@Voltan yeah that'll work for me too, I wasn't planning on playing it for a while anyway so good shout.

**** DLC!

GameCollector84

Been following this one for years. It was supposed to come out all the way back in 2019, but got massively delayed. So far everything looks good. No microtransactions. The game looks complete on release. No Denuvo. So long as reviews are good I'll buy it next month and dive right in.

@Bentleyma- I’m so excited. Almost time!
