Topic: PSVR screen-mirroring and 3d bluray playback issues

Hello,
I've been using my PSVR for about a year now and love it but I've found I can no longer play 3d bluray movies. Whereas in the past, it was simply a case of putting the disc in, I now only get white noise. The audio plays away happily through the headphones but there's no picture at all even when trying discs I've watched through it in the past.
This is complicated by a screen-mirroring issue as my TV (not a 3d TV) turns to white noise when playing VR content and the signal seems to switch off entirely when attempting to play a 3d bluray. It doesn't bother me when playing VR content because I'm obviously not looking at the screen but I'd prefer it if the screen was at least available anyway e.g. showing a friend something in a game. I just left it because it's not a big deal to me.
So far, I have consulted Sony's own help pages and guides such as androidcentral.com but it tends to ask me about screen sizes, HDCP settings, updates and cables. None of these tweaks have had any effect whatsoever.
Can anyone please help?

I had an issue a while back with the PSVR social screen generally not showing. I think I solved this with some rewiring. I either replaced the HDMI lead going from the PSVR processor box to TV, or it may have been that I was going through an HDMI switch and that was causing an issue.

This issue is still not resolved. I'm hoping that by adding an update I can get some further insight but, two months on, nothing seems to help. I did try switching cables as suggested above and, as I don't use an HDMI switch, it couldn't have been that but I did try a different HDMI port on my TV with no result. To be honest, I really don't see how switching cables can help especially when it seemed to work fine before and just stopped working. If it was a faulty cable, how is it that everything else works fine?
What normally happens is that I switch on the headset and I get the whirling loading symbol for a while on the headset. For a moment, there is a chance to adjust settings and make sure I'm in VR mode but it then promptly switches back to white noise on both the headset and the TV.
This is really hacking me off because it was working fine for quite some time and the VR is no problem so I don't see why 3D should be any different?!?
Any ideas?

Interesting. I actually decided to try watching my first 3D Blu-Ray today, and while the movie ran fine, I didn't notice any 3D effect whatsoever (unless it was just really subtle for some reason), so I quit a few minutes in.

Played some Wolfenstein Cyberpilot & watched some VR videos on YouTube after the fact with no issues at all, so it's just the 3D Blu-Ray playback.

Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

Sorry to resurrect this again but it seems that, out of nowhere, my 3D playback is back up and running. I think this may possibly be due to having cleaned and dusted the inside of the PS4 but who knows? To recap the above, I've had a perfectly fine, working PS4 and PSVR for well over a year now. 3D blu-rays worked for the first couple of months before the display suddently started showing nothing.
However, I now have a completely different problem: I get horizontal lines of interference on my screen. The horizontal lines tend to appear in a series of vertical columns and mess with the image and they generally get a little worse before becoming a single stuttering image. It looks Iike a gif repeating the same movement (with interference). I tried switching to a different 3D blu-ray and it ended up still stuck on the same image from the last disc. Only switching to VR with an app (I used Littlestar) cleared the image. So, clearly, the VR still works but the 3D playback is still glitchy. I'm still unable to watch any of my 3D films. Any ideas, people?
