The option to refuse non-essential cookies has stopped appearing recently when I use this site. Though if I change my VPN over to somewhere in Europe the option appears. Is anyone else experiencing this?
@Bot_Bot_69 you can adjust your cookie settings at anytime using the “cookie settings” link in the footer or via the privacy policy page.
The consent banner/overlay is different depending on what jurisdiction you’re in at the time, so connecting via a VPN will show whatever is most relevant to the laws in that country. Since the UK left the EU their GDPR rules are slightly different.
We generally leave this to be configured by our ads partner at IGN. Although I am aware it will be changing setup again in the near future.
@antdickens I should also add that our supporter version of the site doesn’t run any of the ad scripts and is therefore close to cookieless. If you’d be interested in a fully cookie free version of the site we could adapt that to the absolute minimum.
