Topic: Need help with external HDD

So I just upgraded to a pro and figured I should do the sa,e with my external storage so I got a new USB 3.0 formatted it so it was exfat plugged it in and I get an message saying it's file system is not supported

also get a page telling me it has to be a 3.0usb hard drive which it is and that it needs between 250mb and 8tb space it has 6tb and last it says it n do to plugged into the pro which it is

Also gave this error code ce-41899-1 I tried cleaning the USB ports changed the cable to another one nothing works anyone got a fix for this

Hi Kate, how are you?
I bought an external hard drive 6 months ago, when I was about to buy it, I read that the only external drives compatibles with PS4 were the ones without any extra ports available, so, if your hard drive has many USB ports, maybe it's not compatible with the PS4.

This is the one I bought, it works fine.

If yours has many USB ports, it might not work with PS4, I read that they blocked those devices so people weren't able to hack it.

Unfortunately don't think that is the issue it's the same hard drive as the old one I was using just 6tb instead of 4

So it should have no issues reading it but some people say a fix is if you look at pins on the USB cable wrap the middle two up as those are not needed for 3.0 only if you need to plug the drive into that only supports 2.0 that way the PS4 cannot read it as a 2.0 when it's not

but even that is a hit a mix option
