@zupertramp thanks for all your help and suggestions!

I will try to borrow my friends PS4 maybe it will work. If no, I will think about returning. It would be sad to get PS5 and not be able to use it

@zupertramp Yeah, I'm noticing the strange HDMI issues on my Samsung TV too when connecting or disconnecting new sources. But I prefer that to the brightness issues I had on my previous LG TV any day of the week.

@Bobukas Of course not to diminish your problem, because this certainly sucks. Pretty much anything I could come up with has already been named.

If you're desperate you can try to put your TV and possibly later your PS4 to back to factory settings... I have no idea if that would help you, but right now I can't think of anything better.

Another dumb idea: have you tried connecting something other to the new TV via HDMI? A PS3, Switch or DVD player?

I'll keep that in mind. My fear has been ditching Samsung only to find out later that the grass is no greener. What I'm really hoping for is a reconciliation of the OLED and LED technologies by the time I'm in the market for another TV. It's probably not that simple but a person can dream.
